Adobe Connect 

ICANN and the At-Large community primarily uses the Adobe Connect solution (http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect.html) to do its web conferencing.Using  Using this tool effectively is important to anyone wanting to participate in At-Large Working Groups and your Regional At-Large Organisations (RALO.

Install the latest version of  Adobe Flash software

Adobe Connect requires Adobe Flash installed on your PC/Mac. To determine what version of the Flash player you have on your system, visit http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
and to install the latest Flash player go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Windows users should note that the Flash Player in their Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and the one in web browsers like Opera, Mozilla Firefox and Safari are separate installs. You should install and update both versions, by visiting http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ in Internet Explorer and then with your other web browsers.

Assessing Adobe Connect Rooms using mobile devices or tablets

Adobe provides the ability to use Adobe Connect with

  • your mobile phone running Apple iOS, Blackberry, or Android
  • your tablet such as the iPad, Android tablets or the Blackberry Playbook

In addition, each RALO has an Adobe Connect room available for use by its ALSes (for 
example, to facilitate the ALSes’ individual meetings). These Adobe Connect rooms can

The TTF is researching plugins for Adobe Connect to further enhance/improve the benefits of conference calls for At-Large.


Alternative Web Conferencing Options

The TTF explored a variety of conferencing solutions when ICANN appeared to be switching to LucidMeetings, a cloud based conferencing solution in mid 2013. The TTF has held several meetings with LucidMeetings  The TTF used LUCID for its WG calls from late 2013 to mid 2014, before returning to Adobe Connect.

Several TTF members has mentioned other tools for consideration for use by At-Large Structures and/or for use by At-Large WGs. The TTF has reviewed several of these conferencing solutions with special purpose calls to test these solutions.
