  Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):Hi everyone

Terri Agnew:Welcome Remmy Nweke and Vanda Scartezini

vaNDA SCARTEZINI:hi all , i am just listen model

  Terri Agnew:RALO outreach Strategies for FY16: https://community.icann.org/x/C6o0Aw

  Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):Thanks @Terri

Terri Agnew:AFRALO Outreach Strategic Plan: https://community.icann.org/x/B500Aw

Glenn McKnight:I mean a corresponding  GA  for  AFRALO

Alan Greenberg:We were not given funding for a GA in Marrakech.

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):@Daniel, I think there should be a strategic plan to encourage ALSes from AFRALO

Alan Greenberg:Rationall was that it conflicted with the GAC High Leel Meeting.

Terri Agnew:APRALO Outreach Strategic Plan: https://community.icann.org/x/d500Aw

Heidi Ullrich:AFRALO is planning on bringing 5 individuals from academia, NGOs, etc to ICANN 55 for a series of capacity building activities.

  Terri Agnew:Welcome Wolf Ludwig

Wolf Ludwig:Sorry for being late -- got stuck in traffic downtown ...

  Siranush Vardanyan:yes

Heidi Ullrich:Also, as ICANN 55 will be the first Meeting A under the new Meeting Strategy, ALAC/At-Large will have one full day for outreach/engagement activities on the Monday.

Terri Agnew:friendly reminder for our interpreters, please try not to speak over each other

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr:agree Maureen

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):@Alan, do you mean because GA at Marrekech is holding same time for GAC Highlevel meeting that there was no funding?

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Some links regarding Roosevelt King : http://icannwiki.com/Roosevelt_Oswald_King ;  Some of Roosevelt's contributions on the wiki : https://community.icann.org/x/kYIQAw on LACRALO metrics ; Planning LACRALO outreach events : https://community.icann.org/x/Aa7hAg ; Newspaper article on Roosevelt's funeral : http://www.barbadostoday.bb/2015/11/21/farewell-to-ty-king/

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):to support ALS or ALAC participation?

Alan Greenberg:Heidi can correct me if wrong, but my recollection was thet they said facilities and/or staff would be overloaded if we tried to do both at same meeting.

  Alan Greenberg:@Rammy

  Alan Greenberg:Remmy...

Daniel K. Nanghaka:I suggest that since, there will a full day for Outreach and Engagement, I suggest that the different Co-Chairs can be present in Marakech

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):@Alan thanks for response but its not healthy for growth of ALAC

Glenn McKnight:@Remmy what do you mean?

Alan Greenberg:I don't know for sure but suspect it was an issue of hotel rooms among other things.

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):@Glenn, you may have to read up earlier chat with @Alan on why there was no funding for ALAC to support ALS General Asembly at Marakech

Maureen Hilyard:Great news for APRALO - CROPP slots for APRICOT

  vaNDA SCARTEZINI:great maureen...

Terri Agnew:EURALO Outreach Strategic plan: https://community.icann.org/x/4Z00Aw

Siranush Vardanyan:thanks for the news, Dev

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):Does anybody know what happens to CROPP slots for AFRALO? @Daniel

Glenn McKnight:@Remmy your  Cropp slots should be detailed in your  strategy

Daniel K. Nanghaka:@Remmy - Yes, currently AFRALO has 4 slots left

  Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):ok thanks @Glenn

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):@Daniel thanks for the response.

Daniel K. Nanghaka:Tijani used the first slot to participate in AFRINIC in Congo

Terri Agnew:LACRALO Outreach Strategic Plan: https://community.icann.org/x/6500Aw

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/56984569/lacralo-outreach-engagement-sources.png

Glenn McKnight:The  spreadsheet is  listed by region and country

  Glenn McKnight:no voice?

  Daniel K. Nanghaka:I cant hear

  Glenn McKnight:yes

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Yes we can

  Glenn McKnight:nothing now

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:go ahead

  Daniel K. Nanghaka:now yes

  Glenn McKnight:k

  vaNDA SCARTEZINI:ok now

  Terri Agnew:Welcome Nkem Nweke

Lawrence Olawale-Roberts:@Daniel are we exploring the possibility of selecting some ALS to host remote hubs locally at their centers so that more people could participate in the At-large meetings

Glenn McKnight:Gunella, Siranush, Satish also were there

Terri Agnew: NARALO Outreach Strategic Plan: https://community.icann.org/x/KJ40Aw

Daniel K. Nanghaka:@Lawrence - we have had previously Remote Hubs participating in ICANN meetings

Daniel K. Nanghaka:@Lawrence - Is that for the Marakech meeting

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:That's a great amout of fellowships from ARIN

Nkem Nweke  (DigitalSENSE Africa Media ):@Terri thanks

Lawrence Olawale-Roberts:yes towards Marakech could we actually encourage ALS's in our regions to set up hubs for their members and the community to join in the meeting remotely

Heidi Ullrich:These are all great events!

Heidi Ullrich:Are they listed on your ALS pages?

  Glenn McKnight:15 in total

Glenn McKnight:5 are open to the  Caribean

Glenn McKnight:Some of the LACRALO  ALS  are  eligible

  Glenn McKnight:iel Jamaica, Barbados etc

  Glenn McKnight:They are undersubscribed

Daniel K. Nanghaka:@Lawrence - Yes, that is right, during the AFRALO Monthly Call - I will request members to setup regional hubs

Glenn McKnight:@All  the  Regional Remote Hubs are good

  Rodrigo de la Parra:Absolutely

Rodrigo de la Parra:Happy to help

Siranush Vardanyan:having this news related to apralo cropp approved , we will need some materials to ask for APRICOT

Daniel K. Nanghaka:@staff - Is there a budget for the remote hubs?

Glenn McKnight:@daniel  during Icann meetings  they ask for remote hubs and are funded

Glenn McKnight:I think Josh is the contact on the remote hubs

Daniel K. Nanghaka:Great, so probably the ALSes should conduct the Remote Hub Participation

Siranush Vardanyan:can we ask some docs to be sent to New Zealand, Heidi?

  Heidi Ullrich:Sure, Siranush.

Heidi Ullrich:I'm checking to see if the APAC hub office has materials on At-Large

Siranush Vardanyan:thanos, you will hear from us soon then;)

  Siranush Vardanyan:thanks

Heidi Ullrich:Staff would prefer an email with requests

  Lawrence Olawale-Roberts:great

  Terri Agnew:CROPP FY16 https://community.icann.org/x/P400Aw

Maureen Hilyard:Resource Budgets should be available for all outreach events - not just CROPP

Siranush Vardanyan:e-mail will be sent, Heidi

Heidi Ullrich:with the material requested, numbers, date needed and address to ship to with name of who will pick the materials up

Heidi Ullrich:@Maureen, what is the event?

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):@Daniel I think there is refund for remote hubs, but the issue is timing at the local host matters a lot

Maureen Hilyard:@Heidi - specifically forAPRALO - APRICOT - I have a NZ address so as shipping address is fine for us

Heidi Ullrich:In the past, we've sent materials to the hotel members are staying in

Nkem Nweke  (DigitalSENSE Africa Media ):What's happening  I can't hear anything

Heidi Ullrich:However, these were 50 RALO brochures. Not boxes of doc.

Terri Agnew:@Nkem, audio is still on adobe connect, please let me know if a dial out on thet telephone is needed

Maureen Hilyard:@Cheryl  yes a specific OUtreach and Engagement  resource materials and ideas workspace would be handy

Daniel K. Nanghaka:I have been hosting various remote hub activities, the best thing is to know the time difference. When I did the one for the IGF there was a 6hr difference but all the same members came to the remote hub

  Heidi Ullrich:+1 Cheryl!

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:+1 on what Cheryl has said. A ca

Heidi Ullrich:@Maureen, when is the event?

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:a Card with QR code & URL is the most ransportable option & has less chance to end up in the bin or landfill

  Maureen Hilyard:@Heidi  Beginning of February

  Heidi Ullrich:Thanks, Maureen!

  Heidi Ullrich:Plenty of time!

Heidi Ullrich:Thank you for bringing this up now.

Heidi Ullrich:We could likely produce and ship APRALO business cards by then.

Heidi Ullrich:We have LACRALO and EURALO business cards already

Siranush Vardanyan:that would be great, Heidi

Heidi Ullrich:AFRALO will get their business cards before ICANN 55. NARALO before ICANN 57.

Heidi Ullrich:We shipped the NARALO docs....

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:This page is supposed to track the RALO trip proposals - https://community.icann.org/display/croppfy16/At-Large+RALOs - I've alerted CROPP staff to ensure this is updated

Cheryl Langdon-Orr:good point on the charges  Glenn

Glenn McKnight:@Heidi  we never got the materials for Montreal  the  materials for  NTEN and SW  was in Spanish

Glenn McKnight:@ Heidi  what  happened to the simple  Mailcard for Naralo  was it not funded?

Nkem Nweke  (DigitalSENSE Africa Media ):Thanks @Terri.  A dial-out on my +234 8099400183  will be fine

Heidi Ullrich:@Siranaush, we have a lot of the prior versions of the APRALO brochures

  Siranush Vardanyan:they are outdated

  Siranush Vardanyan:ok, thanks

Maureen Hilyard:@Heidi  Could you send the template out to us asap then.. thanks

Juan Manuel Rojas:Dear all I've got to go...

  Terri Agnew:goodbye Juan Manuel

  Juan Manuel Rojas:bye everyone

Heidi Ullrich:All, are all of these events posted on one workspace with reports/photos?

Heidi Ullrich:these are great events for showing how active At-Large is

Cheryl Langdon-Orr:yup Glenn  I gree and yes I'm a fan of QR codes  etc., :-)

Siranush Vardanyan:@Heidi, send us the template and we will send the updated text

Heidi Ullrich:Not just CROPP - all Outeach/engagment events

Glenn McKnight:@CLO  when someone scans the QR  you know who read the materials,  It's metrics

Maureen Hilyard:@Heidi.. when the website gets up and running, each RALO will be able to report directly onto this site which will be a lot easier to find than putting it onto a community.icann page

  Glenn McKnight:The  targetted  message

Rodrigo de la Parra:I have to go to another meeting but please do consider GSE for any kind of support. We are at your service.

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Thanks Rodrigo

Siranush Vardanyan:need to leave now, bye all

Glenn McKnight:We  gave them away at  NTEN

Glenn McKnight:USB are  thrown away due to virus issues

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr:agre OCL

  Olivier Crepin-Leblond:thumb drives? Virus Issues?

  Glenn McKnight:http://www.cnet.com/news/usb-devices-spreading-viruses/

Glenn McKnight:Lots of people  refuse to accept them because of this

Glenn McKnight:I have experience trying to give them away in Austin

Glenn McKnight:1 in 3 said no

Alan Greenberg:I don't throw away USB drives, but I also rarely look at what is on them...

  Glenn McKnight:@alan my point

Terri Agnew:At-Large ICANN Civil Society Engagement Fiscal Year 2016 Workspace: https://community.icann.org/x/-5FCAw

  Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Alan: http://www.aliexpress.com/promotion/promotion_usb-flash-drive-credit-card-promotion/2.html these too?

Cheryl Langdon-Orr:so print a URL  or QCode ON the outside with the logo !

vaNDA SCARTEZINI:i just clean up mines

Glenn McKnight:Needs  a  clear  definiation of  what is  CIVIL  SOCIETY

Glenn McKnight:The  definition of  Civil Society in the document  focuses   on organizations  “in particular those with interests in Internet-related policy and research.”  This has narrowed the scope of  who is involved in the process

Glenn McKnight:Need clarification of who is worthy,  it  states  “as well as the At-Large community represented by regional At-Large Structures (ALS) that self-identify as civil society.

Heidi Ullrich:The document is open for comment - if At-Large wishes to include End-Users in the title or highlight them more in the documennt, please add your comments.

Glenn McKnight:My concern is the defination of  what is  civil society.

  Terri Agnew:Welcome Beran Gillen

  Beran Gillen:thanks Terri

Beran Gillen:my times mixed up sorry very late

  Beran Gillen:😕😕😕z

Glenn McKnight:I haven't seen any comments from ALAC

Maureen Hilyard:@Glenn.. my concern is what is At Large's definition of civil society so that they can choose whether they are one or the other

Heidi Ullrich:Deadline for comments on teh new document is 11 December - See: https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+ICANN+Civil+Society+Engagement+in+Fiscal+Year+2016+Workspace

  Glenn McKnight:hard to hear

  Alan Greenberg:MAngled voice!

Nkem Nweke  (DigitalSENSE Africa Media ):Where is the media

Beran Gillen:is it me or ocl line bad

Wolf Ludwig:Lousy sound and transmission -- not understandable ...

  Glenn McKnight:still bad

Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):The uadio is bounc

  Beran Gillen:can't hear

Heidi Ullrich:I would suggest not focusing on the term 'civil society' - everyone recognizes that there is no pressure to force groups into one group of 'civil society'...

  Alfredo Calderon:Not clear.

Alan Greenberg:I can hear, just not understand!

  Beran Gillen:Hehehehe @alan

Heidi Ullrich:These groups may have 'aspects' of civil society

Glenn McKnight:We need a  defination of what is  civil society in the document

Heidi Ullrich:The webinar will be on 15 or 16 December. Bring your comments!

  Olivier Crepin-Leblond:ok back

  Alfredo Calderon:Yes.

  Lawrence Olawale-Roberts:yes

Heidi Ullrich:The FY17 special request process will launch 14 Dec...

Glenn McKnight:@Olivier  we are not in harmony on a  definiation

  Remmy Nweke (@ITRealms):yes

Glenn McKnight:Again  we are going in circles  we need in the document a solid  defination

  Terri Agnew:Welcome Alberto Soto

Wolf Ludwig:Plus 1 Cheryl -- terminology is VERY important!

  Glenn McKnight:You need to choose

Alberto Soto:Tahnks Terri, You are welcome.

  Glenn McKnight:'correctly'

vaNDA SCARTEZINI:we satrted a discussion in LACRALO but then, stopped.

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Maureen: ALS criteria does NOT ask for Non for Profit. ALS is about direct engagement with end users, whether a non commercial or commercial organisation

  Maureen Hilyard:@Cheryl... yes!

  Glenn McKnight:thanks al

  Glenn McKnight:bye all

  Glenn McKnight:bye

  Wolf Ludwig:Thanks and bye

  Alfredo Calderon:Have a great day!
