Alberto Soto:Hello all, hola a todos!!

Satish Babu:Apologies, will have to leave in 60 minutes on account of another call...

  Jose Arce:Hi people !!!!

Alan Greenberg:Tijani, I will lead off by talking about what IANA is, a bit of history, the details of the change, and the direct impact on users. Sebastien will go into detail of indirect impacts of the transition.

  renata txt:hi

Alan Greenberg:Is there a different renata that does voice?

renata txt:oops sorry that was when I was in a low bw

Sebastien (ALAC):The sound is very bad

  renata txt:better now

Alberto Soto:Johnny, creo  que tienes el icrofono abierto...

  aÍDA nOBLIA:Hola  a toos

  RABIE BOUAHIAOUI:Hi everyone

  Ricardo Holmquist:sorry for being late

  Ricardo Holmquist:good day everyone

  Yesim Nazlar:Welcome Ricardo!

  Tijani BEN JEMAA:Hi Rabie

  Evan Leibovitch:Greetings from Genf

  Heidi Ullrich:Welcome to all!

Alfredo Calderon:Greeetings to all, after the IGF2016 encounter.

  Evan Leibovitch:g: godaddy

Evan Leibovitch:My own question: Question: is there any danger that the new US administration coming into power in January can undo or modify the work that has been done to date?

Alfredo Calderon:Nos gustaría te hagas miembro de ISOC Global y del capítulo de Puerto Rico

  Evan Leibovitch:The answer SHOULD b (b)

Alfredo Calderon:@Tijani, Thanks for the clarification.

Javier Rua-Jovet:There is always danger, I suppose Evan.   They can make up some excuse that the process was faulty or something.

  Evan Leibovitch:fcant speak.

  Evan Leibovitch:please read it

Javier Rua-Jovet:It was far fetched that Trump would win! So everything is possible! Scary.

Evan Leibovitch:I only ask because of the disinformation campaign started by Ted Cruz during the election campaign

  Javier Rua-Jovet:PURE POLITICS!!!

  Javier Rua-Jovet:Half Crazy Republicans

  Javier Rua-Jovet:Maybe more than half

Javier Rua-Jovet:Sebastien is correct.  The power of the purse is powerful.  But the budget is primarily a House of Representatives responsibility.  The hearing was Senatorial.

Alan Greenberg:Budget was the MECHANISM that the Senate could be used to impact the transition, but the hearings were held because all aspects of the US Government are overseen by Congress and they can question pretty much anything.

Javier Rua-Jovet:It was as Alan says:  a fisshing expedition fueled by partisan electoral politics.

  Javier Rua-Jovet:fishing

  Leon Sanchez:phishing

Evan Leibovitch:Question: Could someone offer a littl more detail on what is the Standing Consumer Committee

Evan Leibovitch:or is it customer commitee?

  Evan Leibovitch:yes, that :-)

Evan Leibovitch:Thanks for clarifying that. There is a potental of confusion of what the "customer" is. In any public information this purpose should be made clear.

Alan Greenberg:CSC = Customer Standing Committee. Very imaginative name!

Alan Greenberg:Not all of PTI, just the Root ZOne aspects

Alan Greenberg:The IETF and RIRs oversee their aspects of IANA.

  Howard Deane (CCC):Please repeat question

  Javier Rua-Jovet:Its ICANN's motto!

  Javier Rua-Jovet:One World, One Internet

Yesim Nazlar:@Howard: the question was: "Does ICANN have a strategy to mitigate or deal with any confluences of IANA tansition on governments' policies "like China" towards internet fragmentation or internet reform? like diplomatic outreach "

RABIE BOUAHIAOUI:someone says that  China is an enemy of internet ?

Javier Rua-Jovet:One thing is clear the US partisan politics around Internet isses will not end anytime soon.  The CIA findings regarding supposed Russian meddling in the US Presidential election will keep "Internet/sovereignty" issues very alive and that is a troublesome prospect for the single non-fragmented Internet.

Alan Greenberg:Of course, those people/groups pushing some of the ideas that we re killed are not happy with us!

Evan Leibovitch:for one more week ;-)

Javier Rua-Jovet:Note for future quizes:  "Solo bien" is not equivalent to "just right".  Solo bien sounds like "so-so or  more-or-less OK"

Javier Rua-Jovet:You want to say "Bien"

  Javier Rua-Jovet:without qualification

Sebastien (ALAC):Teh same in French RIght is both Droite ou Bien

Sebastien (ALAC):Here it must have beed Assez bien

  Javier Rua-Jovet:Oui Sebastien.  Merci.

Alfredo Calderon:Thank you all. Getting ready for another meeting.

aÍDA nOBLIA:Muchas Gracias. Saludos a todos

  Alberto Soto:Thanks, bye!!!

  Javier Rua-Jovet:Bye to all

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Thanks all

  Sebastien (ALAC):Gracias, THanks et merci

  Arshad Mohammed:Thank you!

  Matthieu Camus:thank you! bye
