Session 468 - Digital Governance 3.0

This session, as its name implies, no longer referred to "Internet Governance" but "Digital Governance", in-line with the common direction taken by the ITU, the WSIS and the IGF process.

The panel discussed the very evolution that we are seeing, from the bottom-up multistakeholder Internet Governance that was used in the development of the Internet, to today's "Digital Governance" implying that the old multilateral processes used within the ITU and at the United Nations, needed to bring other communities to the table through multistakeholder initiatives. The panel included several experts known to the ICANN Community, including Dr. Bruno Lanvin, a former ICANN Board member. the format of the session was interesting in that the room was made up of small round tables, thus there was a good interaction between the room and the panellists.

High Level Sessions - Main Stage Room D

The high level sessions for WSIS+20 were headed by the "Leaders TalkX" on Monday and Tuesday only.

Past the first day of sessions, the main high level sessions took place to a room that was not very busy. It was unsurprising as most of the high level sessions "TalkX" consisted of 6 or 7 panellists, each having 3 minutes to present their, often written speech in a 30 minute session, with no interaction with the audience whatsoever.

From Wednesday the Main Stage Room D was transformed and doubled in size to host the "AI for Good" Summit which was also held in the Conference Centre.
