    • Review of the Draft Registry Service Provider (RSP) Handbook - New gTLD Program CPWG

    • Proposed Renewal of the Registry Agreement for the .XXX top-level domain (TLD) CPWG
      • ICANN org is looking for input from the community on ICM’s proposal to renew the legacy .XXX Registry Agreement (RA) using the base gTLD Registry Agreement (Base RA), and to remove the .XXX sponsorship designation. • The CPWG has agreed to draft a statement for this public comment statement.

    • Review of the Registry System Testing 2.0 Test Specifications and API CPWG
      • ICANN org is seeking feedback from the technical community on the proposed test specifications and API for Version 2.0 of the Registry System Testing (RST) service.
        • The CPWG has decided not to draft a comment for this public comment statement.

    • Phase 2 Initial Report of the EPDP on Internationalized Domain Names CPWG
      • The EPDP Team is seeking input on its twenty (20) preliminary recommendations, which focus on Phase 2 questions included in the EPDP Team’s charter.

    1. Michael Palage Justine Chew

Thank you for the discussion on .XXX moving to gTLD during the CPWG call on 17 April 2024.

Wayback in 2003 - 2004, my University server was hacked and clearly objectional content was pushed into the network. Just a three member team including me was entrusted with the task of pl,ugging this. We did it with minimum embarassments and blushes by writing our own monitors and being on the vigil. The University did not has a sophisticated security related stacks and it was easire for us to write our own localised monitors.

Having a TLD such as .XXX domaiin makes the job easier by blocking at the TLD. The content delivery can still happen through the network memory. ..XXX being a sponsored TLD is not likely to do better by fixing the ownership with the sponsor. Making it a gTLD is a better option for the stakeholders.

I think making .XXX a gTLD is welcome.
