On 22 April, the APRALO Vice Chair Lianna Galstyan sent a note of her intent to resign the position at the end of the 2022 AGM to focus on her new position as ALAC Liaison to the ccNSO. Thus, there is need to fill the APRALO VC position on an interim basis for a one year term. The term will be from the end of the 2022 AGM through the end of the 2023 AGM. 

The APRALO Chair has approved the following selection timetable for the position:  

Selection Timetable for the Interim APRALO Vice Chair Position* 

  • 9 May 2022 -  Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.

  • 9 May20 May 2022 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days). 

  • 27 May 2022  - Deadline for nomination acceptances

  • 30 May 2022  - 1 June 2022- Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALO.

  • 2 June 2022 -  9 June 2022 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).

  • 2022 AGM [ ICANN75] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2022 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 22 September 2022.

* NOTES ON NOMINATIONS 

  1. All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate and must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).
  2. No one who is currently serving on the Nominating Committee may be nominated for the ALAC. See https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en#VII-8
