See LACRALO Rules of Procedure : Article 19: In the case of resignation or vacancy in any position, the position shall be occupied by another representative of the same subregion through an election process. Upon failure to find a candidate from the same subregion due to any reason, this same subregion can nominate an active member of any ALS. The winner of the election may assume the role inmediately after the election and complete the term of the person who resigned. Once the term of the Chair elect or Secretary elect ends, she or he will continue as Chair or Secretary, respectively as contemplated in the normal process.

- The elections shall also be governed by the draft new LACRALO Rules of Procedures . Procedure
- A candidate can be nominated by any member of LACRALO but the nominated candidates must be members of the ALS located in the corresponding subregion. LACRALO Observers cannot nominate or be nominated.

- LACRALO does not allow its leadership to hold consecutive terms in the same position. RALOs may recommend one or more candidates to the ALAC. The appointment if NomCom delegates is carried out by the ALAC. Therefore, RALO recommendations are not binding.
