Objective & Task:

This small team will review the 2012 ALAC objection Procedure for filing Comments and Objections to New gTLD string applications, and consider:

(a) whether this Procedure requires an overhaul to address challenges faced in its use for the 2012 New gTLD Round; and

(b) whether this Procedure could be updated to present procedure from 2012, it will consider whether to do with an overhaul of some sort, will address challenges faced last time and will also incorporate less complexity and bureaucracy.

The Output of this exercise is to submit an updated ALAC procedures small team would be a Next Round ALAC Procedure, to be approved by the ALAC for onward submission to the SubPro Subsequent Procedures IRT for incorporation or reference in the next AGB.Tasks

Criteria to be Met for the Next Round ALAC Procedure:

  1. Bottom-up development of potential objections,
  2. Discussion and approval of objections at the Regional At-Large Organization (RALO) level, and
  3. A process for consideration and approval of the objection by the At-Large Advisory Committee.
