Alan Greenberg:Avri. True. But upside down from the normal oprientation with which one views world maps. Where did it come from?

Avri Doria:it was the template tat was used in an earlier webinar, i just editted the template a wee bit.

Avri Doria:even kept some of the slides from that other template.  lazy lazy lazy

  Tijani BEN JEMAA:Who is P?

Evan Leibovitch:The "Registration Issues WG" is an amalgam of two previous working groups, one on "registrant rights" and another on WHOIS and compliance issues.

  p:pastor peters is p

  Tijani BEN JEMAA:ok, I c

Tijani BEN JEMAA:you want to speak?

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr:thank you

  Tijani BEN JEMAA:ok, thx

  p:anoher error

  raitme:Hello

Johnny Laureano:Es importante revisar la aplicacion del RFC1591 para los ccTLDs

Evan Leibovitch:I think the relationships between ICANN, IANA and NTIA are very poorly understood, and this needs to be understood before we can engage in useful end user debate. IMO.

  Allan Skuce:I agree with Evan.

  Gordon Chillcott:As do I

Oksana Prykhodko:Is it possible to track ICANN Board decision from root-grass initiative (from the proposition or comment of any single Internet user or any one ALS)?

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:there is now some increased coordination between so/ac/sg through mailing lists but  probably poor outcome indeed

  Olivier Crepin-Leblond:SO = supporting organisation.

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Ac = Advisory Committee like the ALAC of the Government's GAC

  Olivier Crepin-Leblond:SG = stakeholder groud

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:SG = stakeholder Group.  A component group of the Generic Names Suppporting Organization GNSO

Evan Leibovitch:Important note: In the ALAC context there is no need for a boundary between policy and implementation, because ALAC is empowered to speak on all of it.

Evan Leibovitch:This exists in the GNSO world because its scope is limited to "GTLD policy"

Winthrop Yu:Could we see the slide on the list of names of policy staff again?

Loris Taylor:This was very helpful.  thank you

  Winthrop Yu:ty

  Ali AlMeshal:yes we hear you

  Fatimata Seye Sylla:thanks Avri

  Siranush Vardanyan:thanks a lot, Avri

Evan Leibovitch:I am not able to speak in audio:Question: Why should ALAC care about the distinction between policy and implementation when it is empowere to advise on all of this?

Oksana Prykhodko:What is the role of suffrage in ICANN policy development?

  Evan Leibovitch:I CANNOT SPEAK

Fatimata Seye Sylla:would you please explain the issues raised by Evan earlier

Terri Agnew:Evan, your mic is not active

Evan Leibovitch:My mike is not working :-)

Alan Greenberg:The difference between policy and implementation (up to now) is that implementation has to some extent been out of volunteer  (ie multistakeholder) hands

  Fatimata Seye Sylla:ICANN, IANA, NTIA?

  Oksana Prykhodko:suffrage!

Evan Leibovitch:Fatimata references a comment I made earlier: "I think the relationships between ICANN, IANA and NTIA are very poorly understood, and this needs to be understood before we can engage in useful end user debate. IMO."

Evan Leibovitch:What can the At-Large member do to educate themselves on this important stuff?

Fatimata Seye Sylla:Yes Evan.  the question was not about acronyms

Oksana Prykhodko:could you pls give example?

Loris Taylor:Will a newcomers track be offered during the London conference?

  Fatimata Seye Sylla:but the relationships

  Oksana Prykhodko:thank you!

Evan Leibovitch:no. read my questiona bove

  Evan Leibovitch:just scroll up

Heidi Ullrich:@Loris, yes, there will be a newcomers track for all Newcomers

Evan Leibovitch:Is there an "IANA/ICANN/NTIA relationship for Dummies" document? Asking people to sift through mailing lists is a bit much to ask.

  Loris Taylor:Thank you Heidi

Garth Graham:Isn't it really the political understandings of those relationships that needs a broader anaysis?

Heidi Ullrich:Beginners Guides are also a good way to learn (see: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/beginners-guides-2012-03-06-en)

Allan Skuce:Heidi, that url gave a 404 error.

  Fatimata Seye Sylla:Thank you Avri.

  Fatimata Seye Sylla:yes Olivier

Evan Leibovitch:Garth, I am thiniking there are two elements to this: A factual relationship description that could take the form of an org chart. to understand the present. And an analysis of the relationship in political terms that could help inform the way forward.

Alan Greenberg:@Allan - take of the trailing bracket.

  Alan Greenberg:https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/beginners-guides-2012-03-06-en

  Allan Skuce:Tks.

Oksana Prykhodko:Very good question from Evan - What can the At-Large member do to educate themselves on this important stuff? and not only themselves, but each other

  Garth Graham:No Evan said that!

Evan Leibovitch:Tijani, that was my answer to Garth, not Garth's original question.

  Tijani BEN JEMAA:sorry

Garth Graham:But Avri's answer is fine

Evan Leibovitch:Garth's question: Isn't it really the political understandings of those relationships that needs a broader anaysis?

  Tijani BEN JEMAA:ok

Evan Leibovitch:So "p" is identified as Pastor Peters. But now we have an "a" :-)

  Johnny Laureano:Gracias.

  Maureen Hilyard:Another great presentation
