Dev Anand provided an explanation on the Objection process, section by section.
Dev explained that you can sort by page and by comments
You can use IDNs, Russian, Chinese and Arabic
The Evaluation panel: We are trying to group the conversations by topics
Objection grounds: 2 categories. We group the conversations under both categories.
OCL: The idea was not to accept comments that were under a new thereat
People would need to log in, in order to submit comments
Anonymous comments: DEV, they are not allowed using the WIKI, because they can be gamed. Alternative is to send an email to the review team and the team would review the comments.
Alan: The review group creates the template for the comments. The review group has to create the WIKI page. Comments will have to be created by hand.
Staff would need to create the user account.
Hong: If people can make comments in their native languages. Issue is whether we should allow comments in non -English language.
Yes, WIKI can receive comments in different languages.
There has to be a process whereby translation services can be contacted.
Regarding translation services, we should make the arrangements.
Conflict of Interest discussion
OCL : The letter that was going to be sent out to volunteers to be members of the working group. The task of having set up an objection procedure was one for the ALAC. All of that needs to be within ALAC hands. The new gTLD has no authority to make selections themselves.
The RALO's make recommendations, the ALAC makes the appointments.
There is no determination of the lenght of the appointment of the people in the review team. At the moment we do not have any idea of how many applications are there.
Cintra: Asked the group opinion on the suggestion that 1 of the members of each ALAC member would be a volunteer in the group?
OCL 2 members recommended by the RALO and one by the ALAC.
The issue is that the ALAC member was somehow restricted.
OCL: The RALOs are able to select whoever they want. The ALAC member from each region could be an "At - Large" member (from the At-Large community).
AI: Cintra will prepare wording and send it around.
Summary: There will be comments from the gTLD review call and presentation will be sent by Staff to this WG.
Cintra will send a draft by tomorrow morning.
