The technology task force working group had a conference call on 28 October 2013 to test the Infinite Conferencing web conferencing solution.

TTF Persons on the call : Dev Anand TeelucksinghGlenn McKnight

Some of the notes from the meeting:

  • Presenter can see a list of participants on the right side of screen, however the participants attending do not see this list. A workaround for participants to see the participants is via the text chat where a dropdown can direct a text chat message privately
  • Only one person can be a presenter at a time.
  • Presenter can present PDFs, Office and ODF (OpenOffice/LibreOffice) docs - files are uploaded to the "room" and presented after.
  • Persons can raise hands
  • Presenter can mark up the document during the meetings
  • Anonymous Polling can be done where a summary is displayed.
  • Session can be recorded $2 US a minute but would not capture polling, chat, or displaying of the Office files.
  • Staff noted that invites can be sent via a Outlook plugin before a meeting starts. A host can start a meeting, then send individual email invites from the meeting room more easily. The conference code also changes for every meeting so it is not as simple as Adobe Connect or Lucid with consistent urls for rooms.
  • Presenter can share their screen which requires a Java applet to be installed by participants and presenter
  • No labels
