- Workshop on IDNs and related matters at APrIGF 2019, Vladivostok, Russia (17 July 2019, Day 1 of APrIGF)
APRALO, jointly with ICANN APAC Hub, organized a Workshop on the "Universality of the DNS", at the 2019 Asia-Pacific Regional IGF (APrIGF) at Vladivostok, Russia, which focused on IDNs, Universal Acceptance and internationalized Internet. The workshop was jointly organized by Joyce Chenn, ICANN APAC Hub, and Satish Babu, APRALO Chair, and moderated by Satish. The workshop brought together several very important developments such as IDNs, Local Content, and Universal Acceptance. Panelists included Edmon Chung, Lianna Galstyan, Nadira AlAraj, Joyce Chenn and Mikhail Anisimov from .ru. Ajay Data, Chair, UASG, joined as a remote participant. The workshop discussed the status of UA and IDNs in Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Russia. Dr. Ajay Data, who joined remotely, updated the participants on opportunities available for support to UA initiatives.
