00:25:49    Hadia ElMiniawi:    Hello all
00:26:26    Herb Waye Ombuds:    Greetings everyone, hope you are enjoying your summer (or winter for those south of Capricorn).
00:26:52    Claudia Ruiz - ICANN Org:    RTT Link: https://www.streamtext.net/player?event=ICANN
00:33:00    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    Sounds like a legal issue, Lutz. The contract might be changed if the name of the registrant (not the e-mail address) is changed. Perhaps some lawyers could clarify?
00:35:00    Holly Raiche:    Doesn't that depend on the contract - on the actual name on the agreement?
00:35:14    Lutz Donnerhacke:    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H9899XCuvHSF3BIc_N_pBp9lV8F76cpF/edit#gid=1995275920 This is the document to fill out during the next few days
00:35:48    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    It is a potentially tricky issue, Holly. The registrant's agreement with ICANN might be changed.
00:36:52    Holly Raiche:    Thanks - my question.  Maybe fleshed out as part of Lutz question?
00:36:58    Lutz Donnerhacke:    Summer or not depends on the hemisphere
00:37:19    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    darn --- I covered all of what Jonathan is covering but I only just noticed I had dropped :-) by reading the transcript that was saying something else than what I was saying on the call :-)
00:38:38    Holly Raiche:    Lots for the OFB WG
00:38:41    Lutz Donnerhacke:    Holly, the Question can be as complex as you want. We are Looking at the parts which are "easy" and "common" considered as "corrections". And ther emisuse
00:39:13    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    Here is the complete list of upcoming Public Comment proceedings: https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/upcoming-proceedings.
00:39:36    Holly Raiche:    Thanks Lutz - as John pointed out, it goes to what the RAARArequires
00:39:54    Holly Raiche:    (sorry RAA/RA)
00:44:18    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    To clarify, my understanding is that the 40 items reflects that Advice is broken down into pieces, so multiples one items could be from one advice
00:44:50    Christopher Wilkinson:    @ Avri - we do have the impression sometimes that Board is ‘sitting on’ At Large advice without response
00:44:58    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    that is an important distinction @Chantelle
00:45:01    Carlos Dionisio Aguirre:    hi all, sorry to be late
00:45:10    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    Thank you Cheryl, I think so too
00:45:18    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    as a single  "Advice" may hve  20 points
00:46:15    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    Sub pro more than 30
00:47:17    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    a point well made @Chantelle
00:49:15    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    @JZ It is a very different market today. Some of the CCT recos were good but GDPR has caused problems for them too.
00:49:28    Maureen Hilyard:    The Board process as explained in this summary relating to Advice has always been a mystery even with the explanations in the Reference section.
00:49:42    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    t's a Google Doc and the other Tab has the full list
00:49:50    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    Tab 3
00:49:55    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    “All Items"
00:52:54    Holly Raiche:    Also - the first two items visible are related and need to be considered together - if not an SSAD, a tracking system?
00:54:02    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    So seems to me we have well established the importance of this as a topic to discuss in the ALAC Board bilateral at ICANN75
00:55:38    Yrjo Lansipuro:    Is it possible to access this document after this meeting?
00:55:50    Claudia Ruiz - ICANN Org:    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GEUH4qYA1PZh8dAfw682DbiLC8Nj0AKj/edit#gid=2131698397
00:55:58    Yrjo Lansipuro:    Thanks!
00:56:20    Holly Raiche:    Goodd point OCL
00:57:22    Claudia Ruiz - ICANN Org:    @Yrjo you are welcome, the doc is also linked to today's agenda
00:58:24    Christopher Wilkinson:    @ Olivier +1.  Aren't we being a little patronising.vis-à-vis the Board.  Thery are suppsed to be the best informed and qualified of the whole community.-  They will have read our opinions.  No?
00:59:46    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    Looks like the process is missing a few signatures and stamps. Official stamps are always impressive :-)
01:00:19    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    Sort of a vaguely connected issue to some of the CCT recommendations on tracking gTLDs. The .COM zone has had negative growth for two of the last three months and the third may also be negative. Hopefully, things will pick up in September but there has been a serious negative impact from Covid registrations being dropped. Verisign mentioned issues in one of its earnings calls.
01:01:45    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    @Jonathan - I worry about Board members leaving and another round of Board members needing to consider the Advice… It is taking a long long time
01:01:56    Holly Raiche:    @ JM - interesting - thanks
01:02:14    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    That would seem useful indeed @Avri
01:03:06    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    I do welcome the table - very much --- but I'd like to see the numbers processed ASAP
01:03:37    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    There is another "issue" which is that of priority indeed
01:04:19    Holly Raiche:    Good point OCL
01:04:20    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    @Holly The Summer months are always low in terms of new registrations but it is worrying. The Domain Marketplace Indicators haven't been updated and the mailing list is very quiet.
01:04:49    Maureen Hilyard:    @Avri. We appreciate that there are further developments that the Board is considering, that will make advice from At-Large and other ACs more useful and meaningful to the Board and ICANN
01:06:47    Christopher Wilkinson:    @prioritisation - I have long comsidered that the Board Terms are generally too short. The current ByLaws turnover militates against efficient decision making. CW
01:06:59    Holly Raiche:    @ Maureen - OR it will make earlier advice no longer relevant
01:10:40    Christopher Wilkinson:    @OCL +1
01:11:54    avri doria:    I have another meeting on the hour so will leave shortly.
01:12:29    Carlos Dionisio Aguirre:    our advices are not mandatories to the board. we work on this advices and not allways board consider that
01:12:32    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    This was a helpful discussion
01:13:12    avri doria:    I mind neither the spot nor the criticisms.
01:13:21    Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond:    https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ICANN75+-+September+2022%3A+Annual+General+Meeting
01:15:40    Jonathan Zuck:    AtLarge.wiki/75
01:18:05    Judith Hellerstein:    I very much like the GAC suggestions, think they will be interesting
01:18:37    Holly Raiche:    UA is more than IDNs.  It should also look at the acceptance of new gTLDs
01:21:09    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    The DNS Abuse thing is good but the data from the compromised vs malicious regs thing is higly problematic and the methodologies used is not reliable enough.
01:21:39    Carlos Dionisio Aguirre:    I vote to support the first one, related the evolve multistakeholder model, I thing is very important for our community
01:22:13    Carlos Dionisio Aguirre:    +1 @John
01:23:37    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    @JZ it also has an overlap with local laws/jurisdictions.
01:24:00    Hadia ElMiniawi:    UA:This session will explore efforts exerted by all ICANN stakeholders. The session will highlight the challenges and discuss the way forward.
Session Objectives: Highlighting where we stand as a community and organization on the issue of universal acceptance and support for a multilingual domain name ecosystem.

Form of session: Round table discussion with a member from each ICANN committee and organization in addition to ICANN org and UASG.
01:24:12    Hadia ElMiniawi:    DNS abuse is also good
01:24:51    Hadia ElMiniawi:    because we shall be presenting a different point of view
01:26:03    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    It might also be a good idea to get input from the ccTLD people on the UA issue.
01:26:53    Hadia ElMiniawi:    ICANN Bylaws and inclusion to me sounds like a good topic as well. However, it is not among the list
01:28:17    Laura Margolis:    I agree with Judith's comments
01:28:35    Judith Hellerstein:    Thanks Laura
01:29:07    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    I would go for #4 on the list
01:29:10    Nthabiseng Pule:    DNS abuse is a good topic to include
01:29:38    Herb Waye Ombuds:    Take care everyone, stay safe and be kind.
01:29:56    Hadia ElMiniawi:    @Holly for sure if we have a UA session new gTLDs will be mentioned as well. however, being in AP and noting the % of languages used on the Internet from the region IDNs become important
01:29:58    Nthabiseng Pule:    Thank you everyone
01:30:20    Lutz Donnerhacke:    Apologies for the next three weeks … Vacation on an Island in the North Sea
01:30:38    Jonathan Zuck:    Yes!
01:30:44    Hadia ElMiniawi:    @Lutz enjoy your holiday with ICANN
01:30:58    Lutz Donnerhacke:    Hadia… without
01:31:07    Holly Raiche:    Thanks Hadia - yes, for ALAC, particularly APRALO, IDNs are the important bit - but thee is still the moree general point about acceptance of new gTLDs
01:31:09    Hadia ElMiniawi:    @Lutz ok
01:31:23    Hadia ElMiniawi:    @Holly agree
01:31:52    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    Bye for now then...
01:31:54    Maureen Hilyard:    @Greg  thanks for that reminder
01:31:58    DANIEL K. NANGHAKA:    bye all
01:32:00    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    Thanks and later all.
01:32:06    Hadia ElMiniawi:    Thank you all - bye for today
01:32:21    Michel TCHONANG LINZE:    Thank and all the best, bye bye
01:32:28    Laura Margolis:    Thank you all. Bye!
01:32:42    Chantelle Doerksen - ICANN Org:    Thank you all
01:32:43    Roberto Gaetano:    bye
