At-Large Structures, or "ALSes", are groups throughout the world (either existing organizations or those newly formed for this purpose) focusing on participation by individual Internet users at the local or issue level.  ICANN's At-Large community welcomes interested, qualified groups in all geographic regions to become "At-Large Structures." 

Currently, there are over 125 ALSes within each geographic region (Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America).  ALSes consist of Internet civil society groups, computer user organizations, Internet Society chapters, consumer advocacy groups, community networking groups, academic and research organizations, and -rofessional societies (e.g. engineers, attorneys, etc.)

At-Large Structures are wholly independent from ICANN. Registration simply recognizes that these groups meet ICANN's criteria for involving individual Internet users at the local or issue level in ICANN activities, and for promoting individuals' understanding of, and participation in, ICANN.

Countries with ALS Representation:

The At-Large Structures currently represent the Internet users of more than 80 countries worldwide. Here is a detailed overview:
