Heidi Ullrich:Welcome, All!
Heidi Ullrich::)
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:@Olivier, I'm here.
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:for item 4, and there's not much to say for ICG...
Terri Agnew:Action items 04 December 2015: https://community.icann.org/x/wIRlAw
Terri Agnew:Review of the Action Items from the IANA CWG Meeting #72 (3 December @ 14:00 UTC) : https://community.icann.org/x/kbpYAw
Heidi Ullrich:Staff have confirmed that there will not be an ICG meeting during ICANN 55.
Terri Agnew:CCWG Accountability: https://community.icann.org/x/IIMHAw
Terri Agnew:Welcome Loris Taylor
Eduardo Diaz:Is tehre a timeline for this part of the process?
Seun Ojedeji:asking for dialout
Eduardo Diaz:Who decides which way to go, i.e. mediation, recall, etc?
Seun Ojedeji:please continue for now
Seun Ojedeji:thanks
Terri Agnew:We hear you Seun on audio
Eduardo Diaz:Echo on the line
Eduardo Diaz:hard to understand
Seun Ojedeji:For the record I am fine with the current wording at least noting gets over-ruled without the originating PDP supporting, I however don't think its appropriate in the first place for any SO/AC to petition such as i believe the PDP itself is an MS process.
Sébastien:Not agree Seun
Sébastien:In each SO there is no all the stakeholder taking the decision
Seun Ojedeji:@Sebastien it is not appropriate to wait to use the power on the outcome of a PDP, we should rather find out why we are not getting involved in the PDP in the first place (so our views can be adequately reflected in its outcome)
Sébastien:But it is not always posible
Sébastien:Some are not develope "in" ICANN
Sébastien:THerefor some other SO/AC are not included before a Board decision
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:@Olivier +1, important point.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:If the CCWG is stubborn enough to put forward something that has been highly objectioned by the Board, I've given up.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:but I can tell you that this spells the doom for ICANN
Terri Agnew:finding line
Avri Doria:But ALAC does have a Board member. And I think it is as likely to use this power as any of the SOs. And they are already politicians.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:because we end up with politicians on the Board and the only Board members that will have more power than others will be the NomCom selected Board members. If SOs and ACs are happy to make their Board member less relevant, then good for the
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Avri: when we have a Board member we support them. If we do not like their performance we select someone else 3 years later. I find it insulting to a Board member to remove them there and then using this power. IMHO it is ludicrous.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:that's of course all due to the FUD that the CCWG's loud moouths have been serving us all along the past 12 months: the Board is evil. The Boar is rogue. The Board is not to be trusted.
Seun Ojedeji:I am fine with removing board members but not with removing them by the appointing entity. That IMO takes ICANN to a whole new level post-transition
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:@Tijani +1;
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Seun: we are building ICANN's doom, that's what we are doing. We are turning this organisation into a Trade organisation that will simply serve the domain name industry. Accountability? What acountability? The communities of ICANN are far from accountable and they are going to end up driving this organisation to the ground, which is what their end plan is.
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:@Olivier +1 very strongly.
Terri Agnew:Welcome Leon Sanchez
Leon Sanchez:Hello everyone
Leon Sanchez:My apologies for coming in late
Leon Sanchez:We had a power outage in my area and power just came in
Leon Sanchez:I was uncomunicated literally
Terri Agnew:finding line
tijani BEN JEMAA:dropped
Terri Agnew:@Tijani, we are dialing back out to you
Terri Agnew:Tijani is back on audio
Seun Ojedeji:lost audio but back @ Sebastien, the PDP outside ICANN is MS in nature and AtLarge for that matter has a number of people participating in them. If we need to participate more then we should. @Olivier i agree with you 100% but what can we do at this stage
Sébastien:@Seun not possible easely for ALAC
Terri Agnew:@Seun, unable to hear you
Terri Agnew:@Seun, we can hear you
Heidi Ullrich:I will need to drop off the call now Will remain in the AC.
Leon Sanchez:We will be asking for legal advice on that end
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:All: sorry, I must leave this call now. Wishing you a nice day or evening!
Terri Agnew:goodbye Jean-Jacques
Seun Ojedeji:That last bullet point is something we should right in bold ;-)
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:Bye!
Terri Agnew:Interpreters can stay up to 15 minutes past scheduled duration
tijani BEN JEMAA:I have to run now
tijani BEN JEMAA:I suggest that we stop at 15:30 UTC sharp
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:there is wording creep
Gordon Chillcott:I would accept a statement of concerns.
Seun Ojedeji:On a lighter note, i noticed that some of the comments of the board on the mission statement did not reflect in the final draft, even though it came in much before the release of the document.
cheryl:ny line has dropped
tijani BEN JEMAA:we are out of the time
tijani BEN JEMAA:I really have to leave
Terri Agnew:@Cheryl, dialing back out to you
Leon Sanchez:Power here comes and goes so I'm in and out of the AC room at times
Terri Agnew:goodbye Tijani
Terri Agnew:@Leon, would a dial out be best at this time?
Seun Ojedeji:It may be good for ALAC to consider if they intend to support some of their comments as i think some of them are quite reasonable
Leon Sanchez:Thanks Terri but I'm in a noisy background
Avri Doria:We are doing most all of the WS1 in one year. We should be able to do Rec 6.
Avri Doria:Its the CSG that will be the issue.
Avri Doria:in the GNSO
Leon Sanchez:It would be the FoI for implementing the bylaw
Leon Sanchez:I think a year, if the community presses enough, could be feasible
Avri Doria:No they are not!
Avri Doria:International law does not cover corporations
Leon Sanchez:What's written is a commitment to abide to international law. If commitment fails to be respected, then community powers could be excercised
cheryl:like many things in all of this on HR THE WORK UST CONTINOE...
Avri Doria:If we dont wish it to happen, we will get the work done.
cheryl:sorrytyping in the dark
Seun Ojedeji:Okay i have to go, will remain on Audio only
Avri Doria:The human rights work is just getting into gear.
Terri Agnew:goodbye Seun
Avri Doria:We absolutely need an interim bylaw.
Seun Ojedeji:@Staff please don't redial if my audio disconnects as i will be driving. Thanks
Terri Agnew:@Seun, will do
cheryl:agree with you Avri
Terri Agnew:**5 minutes left
Avri Doria:I will agitate for non adoption of the accountabilty if this isn't there. This is my die on a sword issue
Gordon Chillcott:Do we really want to put a deadline in a bylaw?
Leon Sanchez:I agree Avri
Avri Doria:yes
Avri Doria:we need a deadline otherwise it will drag on for centuries
cheryl:reconvene
Leon Sanchez:This has been, as all other issues in the proposal, product of an enormous effort and consensus was
Leon Sanchez:VERY difficult to achieve on this issue
Avri Doria:join in the work in the Cross community working party on human rights and coporate repsonsiblity - we will continue working on this until it is done
Leon Sanchez:Is that an invitation for me Avri? or a general one?
Leon Sanchez:There will be one more webinar on the 16
Leon Sanchez:just a heads-up
Leon Sanchez:ok
Terri Agnew:Webinar-CCWG Accountability on Wednesday, 16 December at 20:00 - 21:30 UTC
cheryl:bye for now then.... talk again soon... *understatment*
