The At-Large Sub-Committee on the Selection of Members for the IANA Stewardship Steering Committee is responsible for selecting two (2) candidates from the At-Large community to participate in the NTIA IANA Functions' Stewardship Transition Coordination Group. Interested members from the At-Large community should send their Expressions of Interest (EOI) to staff@atlarge.icann.org by Tuesday 08 July 2014 23:59 UTC. In their EOI, candidates should respond to the following:
- A Resume (maximum three pages)
- A Letter of Motivation
- A Declaration of Interests
- Responses to 3 questions posed by the Sub-Committee as follows:
(a) Why do you believe that you are in a position to fairly defend end user interests on the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group?
(b) Are you ready to act as a liaison from the ALAC to the Coordination Committee and act according to the directions set by the ALAC?
(c) Please describe previous roles you have held liaising on behalf of a third party
Elimination Process (Viewable Only to SC Members)
The Selection Committee members used a point scoring system (i.e. a straw ballot), a lively mailing list discussion, and a conference call to make the decision on the candidates.
The straw ballot aims to narrow the poll of candidates to the top 4 choices. It is divided into two parts:
The first part is the scoring system for the candidates abilities that we have designated as being important for any candidate;
The second part is, for those people who have already made their choice of preferred candidates, a scoring system to choose candidates.
