Leon Sanchez:I apologize for coming in late

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr:welcome

  Anthony Niiganii (mentee):Hi Leon

  Leon Sanchez:Thanks @CLO!

  Leon Sanchez:Hi @Anthony!

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:there are now 2 ALT conference calls per month in addition to the monthly ALAC call

Seth M Reiss:Apolgies for arriving late!

Alan Greenberg:Cheryl, you are giving away all of our secrets!

Anthony Niiganii (mentee):I recommend "The Technique of Consensus" by Richard H. Graff....it's a good and short read.

  Anthony Niiganii (mentee):excellent!

  Anthony Niiganii (mentee):demystifying procedures

  Heidi Ullrich:apologies for the interruption

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:What Alan has said is very important: IF THE ALAC AND AT-LARGE COMMUNITY DO NOT DEFEND USER INTERESTS, NOBODY ELSE WILL.

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:In my opinion this is a responsiblity towards the Internet's 2.6 billion Internet users - even if we cannot say we are "representing" them.

sunil lal:that is a very big responsibility. Is there review process/framework to ensure that the ALAC members are indeed doing their job

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Sunil: This is being proposed & built at the moment.

Oksana Prykhodko:Where is the list of ALT members?

Anthony Niiganii (mentee):That's the challenge of consensus....balance between personal opinions and community voice

Cheryl Langdon-Orr:@oksana there is a that that tracks that perhaps staff can put the link in Chat

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr:indeed it is @Anthony

  Oksana Prykhodko:Thank you, Cheryl!

Konstantin Kalaitzidis (SFBayISOC):Are there other groups/organizations currently under consideration for establishing a Liaison? Or is there a proposal process to recommend new liaisons?

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:List of ALAC and ALT members : https://archive.icann.org/en/committees/alac/

Oksana Prykhodko:@Dev thank you very much!

  Konstantin Kalaitzidis (SFBayISOC):Thank you Dev!

Konstantin Kalaitzidis (SFBayISOC):What is the process to submit liaison recommendations?

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Konstantin: There is a yearly call for candidates over the summer

Mercy Moyo:Does it mean ALAC members are appointed by their RALOs?

  Olivier Crepin-Leblond:like Alan said :-)

Konstantin Kalaitzidis (SFBayISOC):Thank you Olivier, Sheryl, and Alan!

Olivier Crepin-Leblond:yes -- 2 ALAC members appointed by each RALO. 1 ALAC member from each region appointed by the ICANN Nominating Committee

  Mercy Moyo:ok, thank you Olivier

Alan Greenberg:@Mercy, yes, 2 of the 3 ALAC members from each region are selected by the RALO. Each has a term on 2 years, and the terms expire in alternate years. So each year, each RALO selects one ALAC member. SOme RALO's have term limits (max number of consecutive terms allowed).

  Heidi Ullrich:Metrics WG:

Oksana Prykhodko:How to track at least one case of Board decision, which became the result of end-user (or ALS) initiative?

Mercy Moyo:Thx Alan for the clarification

Anthony Niiganii (mentee):consensus also works in remediation

Heidi Ullrich:@Oksana, there is a workspace that shows the Board follow up on ALAC policy advice statements

Alan Greenberg:AOksana, I am not sure we want to try to measure which decisions were made at our initiative. Most decision start out outside of At-Large, and what we want is to make sure our issues are fairely considered.

  Oksana Prykhodko:Thank you, @Alan
