    @Satish: It is a welcome idea to go descriptive for the layman to note / aware. One can study further if necessary. However, we can keep many ideas simple...but no simpler. I am sure you are aware that Mitigating DDOS is intricate. One paper I know is "Mitigating DDoS attacks towards Top Level Domain name service" at https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7737252. It becomes quickly expensive for IDNs. The nice aspect [that is not at all nice in many cases] is that DDOS stays put until some one who needs that service looks up. That is a fine tradeoff.     Gopal, the only mention of DDOS in the Initial Report is that we are not talking about DDOS. What we are talking about is the simply Denial of Service.
