Implementation of Social Media strategy

Implementation details should be separate from the strategy

Several calls try to implement Social Media strategy

Results were not quite promising re posterous

Dev created a posterous account, the formatting of sending information was trouble.

So we will not look at posterous because results were not satisfactory.

Dev explained how the blogposts and iftt.com and blogposts

Is there a place to take a look at the recipes?

Given the At Large website we can  connect it to that site

One of the implemenation details is who has access to post a blog.

Ai: To contact IT staff to see if blog post can be restricted to certain persons.

Some consideration has to be given to RALO Chairs- Item for discussion

We need to be careful in giving too many people access

We need to be careful and it is good to restrict it and its good to do a pilor first.

OCL: Cautioned that we need to be caraeful bringing up too many tools which at the end are not used, people do not have time to update the pages, so we need to be strategic.

Any ideas on review of Social Media strategy?

OCL: Did you do a survey of what is already there?

It would be interesting to see how well they believe that information is being disseminated.

The last time we updated the information was in 2010.

A lot of people used facebook. Facebook was more prominantly used in LatinAmerica and Caribbean.

We could request that this be adressed in the Secretariat meeting in Toronto.

OCL can we actually take a look at the actual pages? Question: Has this group gone to the actual pages and looked at it?

There was a not a formal review. The NARALO has used You tube for example.

AI: Find out from other RALOs how they have used the tools.

Update of At Large Technology Workspace

There has not been much update of the Workspace. I would like to see some progress made.

At Large Wiki

The Wiki needs to be re-organized because some people find it difficult to find information on it.

LACRALO Machine translation issues

Interpretation of LACRALO ROP, discussions on elections and so forth. The quality of the machine translation. I made some comments on that before and there was some feedback from IT satff that they have tried to solve the problems. There will be a formal meeting with IT staff to review the issues. For example some subject lines get garbled and its hard to follow the conversations.  Try to develop a style guide and a proper recommendation on how to use the list.  There will be a meeting in Toronto to discuss these issues.
