Introduction

APRALO will organize a showcase event during the ICANN Singapore meeting in June 2011.  The purpose of this Showcase includes:

  • To highlight the activites of the ALSes in the Asian, Australasian and Pacific Islands region; and
  • To facilitate outreach activities for regional Internet user organizations attending ICANN's Singapore Meeting.

Similiar events were held by LACRALO at the ICANN Cartagena Meeting, AFRALO at the ICANN Nairobi Meeting, EURALO at the Brussels Meeting, and NARALO at the Silicon Valley Meeting.

Mandate of this Working Group

The purpose of the APRALO Singapore Showcase WG includes:

  • Determining the best date, time, and location for the Showcase.
  • Developing the Showcase agenda, including:
    • Deciding whether or not there should be an overarching theme;
    • Identifying and inviting the keynote speaker;
    • Identifying and arranging for the Showcases' other speakers;
    • Establishing the order of events, including the speaker order; and
    • Confirming which APRALO ALSes will have representatives present their ALSes at the Showcase.
  • Collecting and organizing materials to be available at the Showcase from all of APRALO's ALSes (including ALS Fact Sheets, posters, brochures etc.).
  • Deciding how this ALS material will be presented.

Officers

It is recommended that the APRALO Singapore Showcase Working Group select, among its officers, a Secretariat to record and keep track of meeting minutes (in particular, decisions taken) and action items assigned.
