10) Purpose and Goals:

The EuroDIG is a significant and important annual event attended by usually 6-800 various stakeholders and a crucial strategic outreach opportunity for NCUC. I have submitted a topic proposal on 'ICANN policies and procedures & human rights' and it is included in the Plenary Session 4: IG policy and IANA transition, which I co-organize, however, I as a data protection lawyer, I will also actively participate in the meetings on data protection (WS7), cross-border Internet and law (WS 2) and empowerment (WS2), and thus, will actively represent NCUC and its role within IG policy-making circles.

11) Proposed Outcomes:European-focussed outreach for new members and raised awareness of the opportunities to participate in the work of NCUC/NCSG/GNSO/ICANN; and presence of ICANN civil society community voices not only in ICANN related discussions, but also on general civil society concerns, such as, e.g, data protection issues. The active presence and participation should also lead to a better understanding of ICANN policies and processes by various stakeholders, and the civil society members not yet involved in ICANN. Such awareness raising should, in turn, lead to expanded networking contacts and potential future collaborations, as well as new memberships.
