11) Additional information (optional): | Since joining ICANN in 2012, I have actively participated in the ICANN policy development process having held pen holder and chair positions across different working groups and participated fully in the IANA transition process. In addition, I have single handedly recruited the first ALS from The Gambia in the name of ISOC Gambia. Due to personal commitments, I could not continue to stay active in the ICANN process at a central level. However, I continued to organize training sessions and readouts through the Information Technology Association of The Gambia of which I am currently the President. I have also led the Internet Governance Steering Committee in the Gambia and successfully hosted the first West Africa IGF in The Gambia in 2019. The Gambia IGF under my stewardship has created a mulstistakeholder entity that currently oversees all IGF related issues and has registered gains in the past year having successfully pushed for and realized the development, validation and enactment of a Cybercrime Bill and Data Protection Bill in The Gambia. As the chair and participant of the DotGM steering committee, I successfully contributed to the development of the DotGM Policy to support the delegation of the DotGM back to The Gambia. We have successfully identified an entity for the delegation and are now preparing for implementation stages of the project. Through the ISOC Gambia chapter of which I am an active member, we were able to successfully train over 30 participants on Initial Registry Operations Course (IROC) with support from AfTLD and the .sn Registry under the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal. |
