00:38:40    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    One potential case study for that would be what happened with .LOAN and .LOANS in the 2012 round.
00:41:16    Eduardo Melendez:    we lost her
00:41:24    Eduardo Melendez:    yes
00:41:42    Judith Hellerstein:    I also thought I had dropped as well
00:46:41    ALAC-Bill Jouris:    Hard to justify ignoring all the languages beyond the 5 UN languages
00:51:16    Frank Anati:    Hi, everyone. Frank Anati from Ghana
00:52:56    John McCormac - HosterStats.com:    One of the problems with the .LOAN/.LOANS case was that the usage did not change until after the delegation and that one of the gTLDs was intentionally flooded with low cost registrations and that damaged both gTLDs. One registry tried to build a genuine gTLD and the other did not. It may not be possible to guess the future usage of a gTLD especially if a gTLD turns out not to be financially viable based on its original usage as outlined in the application.
00:53:10    Patrick Kiiza ISOC Uganda:    Hello chair , allow me to drop off i have another meeting. Thank you

00:55:57    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    I certainly support NOT increasing options for process management  and therefore  increasing complexity  I certainly support the ST approach of using existing processes (i.e. in the PC period issue raising)

01:00:16    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    Yes to right to object later   Yes
01:02:54    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    It's not relitigating IMO
01:04:25    Adebunmi Akinbo:    The best way is to engage the objection earlier. If that opportunity does not come, objection later can apply.

A similar string like .ng was .ing.
01:04:40    Greg Shatan (ISOC-NY):    Gothic AND Baroque
01:04:54    Michael Palage:    Death of the ICANN multistakeholder model by a thousand process "cuts"
01:05:00    Laura Margolis:    +1 Avri
01:05:08    Adebunmi Akinbo:    It was easier to raise objection earlier to stop it it's advancement.
01:07:21    Adebunmi Akinbo:    For singular and plural, it's better to create a technical evaluation. Using .hotel versus .hotels is confusing.
01:07:27    Cheryl Langdon-Orr:    Jutine and others need to leave
01:07:44    Alan Greenberg:    In the last round, there was clearly a difference of opinion among evaluators whether singlular/plural was confusing. This time, we are adding that as a rule.
01:09:02    ALAC-Bukola Oronti:    Its showing here
01:09:08    ALAC-Pari Esfandiari:    My screen was fine
01:09:51    ALAC-Justine Chew:    Thanks, we can continue on singular/plural next week when we have additional info, including how the proposal would apply to various scenarios.

I do not think it is a death to m17m, though people love to bring out that old chestnut every time the process is not perfect.  I think it is the normal computing science habit of creating a new level of indirection for every problem.

Might prevent another .LOAN/.LOANs situation if it works.
01:16:06    ALAC-Bill Jouris:    Schizophrenia is a minimum required skill.  That and the ability to be in two places at once.
01:16:44    ALAC-Bill Jouris:    Off to the CIP meeting. Bye all!
