Latest LITA Activity - Tripoli Seminar - 16 December 2015 - Engineers' order Tripoli
The Lebanese Information Technology Association, has organized a seminar on "internet Governance" in cooperation with the Order of Engineers in Tripoli on 16 December 2015.
After exposing the history of the Internet Mr. Fahd Batayneh has explained the importance of "Internet Governance", its repercussion at the national and international levels, and the role of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers(ICANN) in maintaining stability and security of the Internet’s unique identifiers.
Next to the Head of the Engineers Order and members of the board, The Seminar was attended by engineers, some academics, post graduates students, as well as, communication and technology professional.
A debate session followed, and was marked by the interest it steered among the audience. The responsible of the events organization Dr. Rima Heleiss discussed with the LITA's members present thereof (Dr. Mona Al Achkar Jabbour & Dr. Khalil Khairallah), further cooperation and more conferences on "Internet Governance" in order to spread the word and enhance awareness about the importance of the domain names system for future development of different professions.
The discussion was continued with the board members at the dinner that was organized by the Order of Engineers.
