Fouad Bajwa is a rights advocate, public policy advisor, Free and Open Source Software FOSS Advocate,  entrepreneur and educator from Lahore in Pakistan. Fouad participates in various initiatives that promote a free and open Internet in Pakistan. He founded the IRP2, a strategic Internet policy advocacy group in 2009 to help make the citizenry aware of their rights in the digital space and the social, economic and political changes being brought about due to the Internet. The group has been actively engaging in improving the Internet policy landscape in the country, promote Internet Governance activities, contribute to other IG related initiatives around Pakistan. 

He founded the FOSS movement in the country that helped increase the penetration of open source innovation in the country and promote a culture of digital creation and sharing that helped evolve the startup culture in the country. He has also been awarded the national OSS award for his contributions to the movement. Fouad participated in the WSIS process and contributed to the IGF. He served as a member of the IGF MAG from 2009-2011. He teaches Internet Governance and Public Policy at the Center for Public Policy and Governance, Lahore since 2015 and contributes to the Pakistan School on Internet Governance as a faculty and organizing committee. 

Fouad is a co-founder and partner in a biomedical startup that designs affordable technology for those that have no access to it. He also serves on the government standards committee for biomedical devices. He is actively contributing to COVID19 crisis response teams in his country and participates in actively open sourcing technology designs to help front line caregivers around the world.     

Fouad believes in the ethos of community, empathy, inclusiveness, caring, sharing, helping and promoting each others ideas and contributions so that we can grow together as a community.
