3. Sub-Committee on Plan for Tools Familiarisation (Julie, Louis, Yrjö)

a. There are a number of issues that the Sub-Committee wishes to discuss and finalise with the BCEC:

  • Confirm our terminology for the 2 stages of assessment:  Initial Evaluation, Detailed Evaluation (as per our Operational Procedures and Guidelines)

 Trial of Initial Evaluation Tools:

  • 5 "sample" EoIs planned to be were completed by 2359 UTC Sunday 23 October 2016 (hopefully)
  • Perform trial Trial candidate evaluations using "sample" EoIs were completed by 2100 UTC Wednesday 26 October 2016
  • Discuss results at next meeting on Thursday 27 Aggregate scores and Individual scores were made available Wednesday 26 October 2016
  • Provide feedback on use of web tools

b.  Trial of Detailed Evaluation Tools:

  • 5 "sample" EoIs to be used again for this process
  • Section A of each "sample" EoI made visible
  • Wiki Tool yet to be developed
  • Schedule for this trial TBA

4.  Sub-Committee on Plan for Candidate Evaluation (Julie, Jordi, Vanda)

This Sub-Committee has not yet commenced its work.  However, to assist in planning it would be useful to agree what date the Committee must complete its deliberations in order to allow the ALAC to publish the been actively working on the Candidate Evaluation process and associated schedule covering the period from Deadline for Submission of EoIs on Friday 18 November 2016 to producing the Final Slate of Candidates on Thursday 22 December 2016. As part of our discussions, a few issues have been identified requiring BCEC discussion:

  • Terminology 
    • List of All Candidates - those Candidates who have submitted a valid Expression of Interest by the deadline of 2359 Friday 18 November 2016
    • Shortlisted Candidates - those Candidates who proceed from Initial Evaluation to Detailed Evaluation
    • Final Slate of Candidates - those Candidates who proceed to voting by the ALAC and 5 RALO leaders
  • Publication of Shortlisted Candidates
  • References
    • List of Questions to Referees to answer (as in NomCom)
    • “Tidy up” EoIs before sending to Referees (as in NomCom)
    • Deadline for Submission of References (2359 UTC Friday 2 December 2016)
  • Questions and Clarifications
  • Candidate Interviews

5.  Agenda for the Joint BCEC/BMSPC Meeting at ICANN57 in Hyderabad (Julie).  Meetings at ICANN57 in Hyderabad (Julie):

a. Joint BCEC/BMSPC Update to ALAC - 1100-1115 IST (Local Time) Thursday 3 November 2016 (0530-0545 UTC)

  • BCEC Members welcome but not necessary to attend

b. Joint BCEC/BMSPC Meeting - Currently scheduled for 1100-1230 IST (Local Time) Monday 7 November 2016 (0530-0700 UTC)

  • BCEC Members encouraged to attend, but understand that there are many other commitments in Hyderabad
