This is also the chance for everyone attending to network with peers.

The AIS is the pinnacle multi-stakeholder event combining, workshops, conferences and networking for the internet stakeholders. I have the intention to participate in the AIS’ 14 which overarching theme is “Beyond connection: Internetworking for African Development" as a speaker in some sessions, and will try to organize a workshop on behalf of AFRALO to enhance the visibility and the credibility of AFRALO and of ICANN. Trip Assessment Section

1) Describe how the original Purpose and Goals were accomplished:

I organized a workshop on behalf of AFRALO untitled "ICANN new season: a home for everyone". 5 speakers presented the opinion of different stakeholders about the ICANN new season. The room was full, and the debate showed the interest of the participants in ICANN. A separate report will be submitted on the workshop.

I also was selected to moderate a session organized by Djibouti Telecom about the development of ICT in Djibouti.

I spent all my time during breaks and social events in reaching out the African community tu recuit new ALSes. one of those I encouraged to join AFRALO already submitted an application to become an AFRALO ALS (Our Rights from NIgeria).

2) Describe how the original Outcomes were achieved:

The number of participants in our workshop, their interest in ICANN and AFRALO expressed during the debate are a good sign of the image we gained.

Also, if they wanted me to moderate a session of one of the main organizers, it was because they have a good consideration of AFRALO and ICANN.

The outreach to potential possible candidate for AFRALO new ALSes was done.

we already recuited one new ALS (Our Rights from Nigeria)

3) Date Completed: 05-Jul-2014
4) Additional information pertaining to this outreach event (optional): I have been in Djibouti from 2 to 6 June; I thus paid the total expenses of my staying out of the period covered by the CROPP. It wasn't possible to reduce my participation to only 2 days because the events were spread on the whole summit period, and I needed to participate in all of them..
