1 big Public meeting in concert with Kieran - a panel discussion or something on ICANN and methods of participation?
ALAC public meetings - probably 2x2 hours - admin stuff, like voting and so on.
ALAC "private" meetings - do we need those or should we focus on getting our work done in public meetings and have "working groups" meetings to create positions and documents for the public meetings?

  • I'm not sure you really have to distinguish between private and public - except if you have to deal with individuals. What we used to do is to just have ICANN meetings, where the public could sit and watch, and speak if the Chair allows. But we used to have much more of that, usually 8-12 hours of meetings per ICANN meeting, sometimes even more, divided in 4-hours block whenever possible. Specifically, I think that we should devote 3-4 hours to our internal rules of procedure, if we can't work on them in advance of Lisbon but we want to finalize them there. --vb.

RALO meetings - LAC took 2 days of meetings. Do the RALOs want 2 days (Sat, Sun am and Mon pm as LAC did) or different, or less time or more time??

  • I think that 1.5-2 days might be necessary... --vb.
  • I think we should avoid Saturday to let the RALOs use it however they want. But starting Sunday I'd like to see us come up with a solid schedule and then RALOs or whoever else can schedule around us. My suggestion is to have Sunday morning for the internal ALAC meeting to discuss internal rules of procedure and other 'private' matters, e.g., confidential letters to Ombudsman(?). - Siavash

  • PDP on domain tasting, now that we have sort of an issues report
  • Suggesting a half-day public policy meeting on IDNs, whois, domain name tasting, etc. (if this is not workable, suggest an IDN briefing/dialogue session for 1-2 hours)--Hong
  • If not done before, ALS Accreditation Process
  • What about the things on the Agenda-Open, Agenda-Submissions and Action Items pages?
