The SSAC is still working on a reply to the Root Scaling Study Team Report.
2. IPv6 Survey
The IPv6 firewall survey is ready to launch. The DNSSEC middlebox testing will be added. A comparative report (2008 results versus 2010) will be done. This is an opportune time given the recent announcement regarding v4 depletion (now under 10% unallocated).
3. Orphan DNS Records
A Work Party has been established. Orphan DNS is one of the many vectors that malicious actors use to launch attacks, but it is fairly difficult to mitigate the risk, especially when the parent and delegations are in separate zones. Instead of finding and compromising orphans servers, malicious actors are setting orphans up themselves.
