5. Discuss Red Line Subject for Showcase Event

Suggestions by Olivier:

  • The importance of At Large in the multi-stakeholder governance processes of ICANN
  • The parallels between freedom of information, freedom of trade and bottom-up governance
  • European At Large outreach to involve citizens in the ICANN bottom-up governance process
  • Evolution of At Large in ICANN, an evolving organisation in an evolving world
  • Lisbon Strategy and Policies for the Information Society: the role of At Large Structures (ALSes)
  • Non Governmental Organisations, At Large Structures and European Governments: common goals; differences.
  • European diversity as an asset to development / ALS diversity as an asset to ICANN.

Do any of them strike you as particularly interesting/important?
Do any of them strike you as particularly boring/inappropriate?

6. Outreach to EURALO ALSes ("in-reach")(5 mins)

a. Rudi's Overview of ALS Factsheets

See overviewALSes2010.pdf

7. Designing the EURALO Showcase page on the At-Large Website (10 mins)

A simple EURALO Showcase page has been created: http://www.atlarge.icann.org/euralo/brussels-outreach.htm

8. AOB (5 mins)

Regarding point 5, one more suggestion:

I think, all of them are "particularly interesting/important". Among the
last three there is one aspect I would like to see reflected:

  • The area of tension (challenges and limits) between EU regulation in
a top-down manner and EU citizens, users or consumer empowerment
and representation in Internet Governance (bottom-up).

Or, this could be a broader approach to point 3 as well?
