At-Large Plenary Session 2: Building Trust on the Internet through Registrant Verification Session Details: https://sched.co/1a1DH The World Economic Forum’s “Reimagining Digital ID” recently noted that “[d]espite a sustained focus on ID, the increasingly widespread use of digital technologies, and the rapid development of AI, the internet lacks an ID layer.” This session will focus on innovations by TLD registry operators (both gTLD and ccTLD) designed to increase trust in their respective namespace through the use of enhanced registrant verification. This session is designed to be hybrid, incorporating both in-person and remote panelists. The session will incorporate two panels. The first will level-set on the topic of trust and registrant verification by looking at the recent NIS 2.0 Directive and ongoing standards development work in this area. The second will be a tour de table which will look at the innovation occurring across different TLD operators. Agenda: (TBC) Panel #1 – Level Setting (30 minutes) Approximately 10 minutes per speaker. This panel will be comprised of three speakers level-setting on the need for trust on the Internet. Tentative Speakers could include:
