Purpose of APF Call

This APRALO Policy Forum (APF) Call is to facilitate the drafting of an APRALO comment/statement to the ICANN Board, in response to the public comment proceeding for the Phase 1 Final Report of the Expedited Policy Development Procedure on Internationalized Domains Names (IDNs-EPDP). 

Satish Babu, in his capacity as the ALAC-appointed Representative to the IDNs-EPDP, will lead the discussion. 

The goal of the call is to build the capacity of APF Members who wish to participate in formulating APRALO's comment, and to discuss the possible avenues for amplifying our region's perspective for the public comment.  

As such, APF Members who plan to join this call and effort should review the following resources prior to this APF Call:

    1. Background to Phase 1
    2. Current status:
      • The consensus status of the 69 Recommendations/Implementation Guidance
      • Open issues
    3. How to read the Phase 1 report, keeping in mind the recommendations that are important from the end-user perspective
    4. How to contribute to the comment document
    5. How to relay a statement to APRALO for submission (to the ICANN Board, CPWG or both)
    6. Any other questions that you may have
