Alan Greenberg:Once the CWG-Stewardship did not deliver its proposal early in this calendar year, it was clear that the NTIA-ICANN IANA contract would heve to be extended. The exact period needed was unclear, and the one-year is a good and hopefull safe estimate. If all goes well, it will be terminated at transition well before the year is up.
Leon Sanchez:@Joly I believe the "finish its work" reffers to the actual implementation of the WS1 in the proposal
Joly MacFie:Yep. " it has become increasingly apparent over the last few months that the community needs time to complete its work, have the plan reviewed by the U.S. Government and then implement it if it is approved."
