Dear All,

Olivier Crépin-Leblond, Chair of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) has requested a call for candidates in the At-Large community for the NTIA IANA Functions’ Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (“Coordination Group”).

On 6 June 2014, ICANN published a Process to Develop the Proposal and Next Steps that is the culmination of a series of community discussions and input into the process to develop a proposal to transition the IANA functions to the global multistakeholder community. The process invited 13 communities to launch their internal processes to select their representative members in the Coordination Group. The upcoming Coordination Group gathering is scheduled for 17-18 July 2014 in London at the Hilton Metropole Hotel to finalize its modes of operation and working methods. To ensure transparency, the meeting will be accessible to all global stakeholders. Details of the meeting will be shared in the near future.

The At-Large Sub-Committee on the Selection of Members for the IANA Stewardship Steering Committee (“Selection Committee”) is responsible for selecting two (2) candidates from the At-Large community to participate in the Coordination Group. Interested members from the At-Large community should send their Statement of Interest (SOI) to staff@atlarge.icann.org by Tuesday 08 July 2014 23:59 UTC. In their SOI, candidates should respond to the following:

  • A resume (maximum three pages)
  • A letter of motivation
  • A Declaration of Interests
  • Responses to 3 questions posed by the Sub-Committee as follows:

(a)  Why do you believe that you are in a position to fairly defend end user interests on the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group?

(b)  Are you ready to act as a liaison from the ALAC to the Coordination Committee and act according to the directions set by the ALAC?

(c)  Please describe previous roles you have held liaising on behalf of a third party

The candidate SOI will be published in the wiki page of Selection Committee; they will be protected by a password and accessible only by Selection Committee members.

Regards,
