On 5th January 2017, ALAC Member Veronica Cretu representing EURALO sent a note of resignation to EURALO Chair Olivier Crépin-Leblond.

Olivier Crépin-Leblond called for a call for candidates to begin on 16 January 2017.

The term of the position will begin on 11 February 2017 and end at the 2018 AGM.

Selection Schedule for the EURALO Replacement ALAC Member:

• 16 January 2017  - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.*

• 16 January  - 27 January 2017 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days).

• 27 January 2017 - Deadline for nomination acceptances.

• 27 January 2017 and 2 February 2017 - EURALO Community call with the candidate(s) to be scheduled.

• 3 February - 10 February 2017 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).

• 11 February 2017  - Newly elected ALAC representative shall be seated on the ALAC the day after the conclusion of the elections (or on 28 January if no elections are required).

*NOTES ON NOMINATIONS 

1. All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate and must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).
2. No one who is currently serving on the Nominating Committee may be nominated for the ALAC. See https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en#VII-8
3. According to EURALO By-Laws, article 11.5.10 Electing the ALAC members representing Europe. The selected representatives must be members of different ALSes, must have their principal residence in different countries of the region and their nationalities must be different. To the extend possible, gender balance and regional balance within Europe shall be fostered.
