Success Criteria for the Root Server System Governance Structure (R1)RSSAC060

CLOSED

Description:

The RSSAC supports Recommendation 9, which states that, “[a]ll NomCom members should be fully participating and voting members, except for NomCom leadership.” Therefore, RSSAC supports all Bylaws amendments proposed in Article 8.2.

Furthermore, the RSSAC identified, with the adoption of the proposed Bylaws amendments in Article 8.2, a circular relationship between RSSAC appointing a voting delegate to ICANN Nominating Committee; Nominating Committee selecting ICANN Board Directors; and ICANN Board confirming the Root Server Operator appointments to the RSSAC. To address this circular relationship, RSSAC requested amendments in Article 12.c.ii of the ICANN Bylaws.

The RSSAC welcomes the fact that these requested amendments are now being proposed via this public comment proceeding and supports the Bylaws amendments proposed in Article 12.c.ii.
