GAC Input:
- Spain: Nielsen survey would be more representative if users who are average users of Internet had been surveyed as they are more prone to be victims of fraud.
--> It was not a filtering question but a question that was used for cross-tabulation. - Spain: Take into account the conclusion that more than 70% respondents favored some level of registration restrictions on both legacy and new gTLDs as this is an increase from 2015.
- Spain: Survey should have been broader.
- Denmark/UK: Have new gTLD rounds had an impact on cost benefit?
--> Competition/Consumer Choice Team is responsible for the cost benefit analysis. Cost is often in form of defensive registrations although difficult to measure. - Denmark: Will defensive registration be included in the survey and report?
--> We are going to conduct a study of brand owners probably through INTA to get an understanding of costs associated with the new gTLD program. - UK: Will the review look at opportunities for small and medium-size enterprises?
--> We will ask applicants the degree to which costs was a barrier to entry. The Applicant Support Program was underused. - Switzerland: How well are you coordinating with the PDP on subsequent procedures?
--> We have two PDP WG liaisons on the CCT-RT. We have regular coordination calls with PDP WG leadership. The PDP WG will be waiting for results on some of our topics. - Paraguay: When is the economic study or analysis going to be available?
--> Fall 2016. We are having difficulty to find some outside sources for data.
