Trip Assessment Form

1) Describe how the original Purpose and Goals were accomplished:

As an IP lawyer in Silicon Valley with extensive prior experience practicing in Los Angeles, I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to experience first-hand the actual procedures of ICANN in terms of proposals and policy. It was especially beneficial to learn more about the status of the new gTLD program and its dispute resolution mechanisms, and how I can contribute to making this process better for IP owners in the future.

2) Describe how the original Outcomes were achieved:

I attended all IPC/GNSO meetings and I covered my own expenses following the second day of the meeting, for attending the entire conference in Los Angeles.
3) Date Completed:02-Feb-2015
4) Additional information pertaining to this outreach event (optional):Ms. McGowan's participation in CROPP for ICANN 51 was valuable to the IPC insofar as it added a new voice to constituency and community discussions, and led Ms. McGowan to join an ICANN constituency, adding a fresh volunteer to the community ranks.  The addition of Ms. McGowan to the ICANN community serves the CROPP goals of building local/regional awareness and recruitment of new community members and communicating ICANN's mission and objectives to new audiences.  This outreach and community-building was made possible because of CROPP funding.
