Gisella Gruber and Cheryl Langdon-Orr to find a 3 hour space for drafting the At-Large Review statement before the Wrap Up session.

  •

Heidi Ullrich / Gisella Gruber to find a 30-45 min slot for a meeting with Jamie Hedlund (possibly on Sunday)

  •  Heidi Ullrich / Gisella Gruber to check whether Rinalia Abdul Rahim would be available to meet with the At-Large Review WP Leadership for a lunch on Sunday
  •  Heidi Ullrich / Gisella Gruber to place Xavier's team meeting with the ALAC on Tuesday
  •  Alan Greenberg / Heidi Ullrich / Gisella Gruber to schedule a meeting to finalize the schedule on 2 March after 6am PST
  •  Heidi Ullrich / Gisella Gruber to schedule a 60-min slot for the ICANN Evolution WG and find an optional 30 min additional slot if needed
  •  Heidi Ullrich / Alan Greenberg to note the question to the Board:
    • Regarding the question - To what degree is your membership actively participating in CCWG-Accountability Work Stream 2?  What could the Board or ICANN organization do to facilitate participation and timely completion of this work?
      • The ALAC may wish to explain to the Board the process how seasoned At-Large members who are deeply engaged in ICANN policy activities regularly brief the wider At-Large Community of the latest development of issues.
      • Particularly advise the ICANN Board on At-Large's regular ICANN Evolution WG calls as a continuity of WS1 efforts, especially as the ALAC is a charting organization of the CCWG-Accountability and will be responsible for the WS2 output.
      • Build a few statistics on RALO activities (APRALO focus, AFRALO focus, etc.) of updating their members on WS2 activities. e.g. AFRALO monthly meeting has a standing agenda item of WS2 briefing.
      • At-Large is aware of other parts of the ICANN community that hold updates/briefings on WS2 activities. E.g. NCSG holds an update every 5-7 weeks with the usual suspects (e.g. leadership people or people who are leading the Subgroup activities of WS2) attending with only 1-2 key areas of interest.
      • ALAC's briefings on the WS2 cover all subtopics and reach much wider membership, ensuring that the WS2 output would be satisfactory to the ALAC as a chartering organization.
      • Perhaps asking for more support to help end users engage, e.g. ask for translations for all WG outputs, questionnaires, and consultations into different languages.
  •  Alan Greenberg / Heidi Ullrich to finalize the questions to Goran Marby:
    • What is the role of the chief compliance officer? What is his process of processing complaints?
    • Interactive discussion with the ALAC and the Regional Leaders.
    • How can the ALAC impact policy issues more notably?
    • His reflection of ICANN experience after one year as the CEO.
    • Raise the issue regarding the wording related to the single letter domains in the Registry Agreement - advice from the ALAC, BC, SSAC and others is not incorporated in the final version.
    • Does Goran see any growth in staff departments (e.g. GDD, policy, etc.)? Will this be in the updated FY18 Operation Plan?
    • ICANN funding for the GDD Summit, and ICANN's involvement in the domain names marketing (?)
    • NCPH intersessional (possibly a topic to discuss with David)

LONG-TERM GOALS

IN PROGRESS LONG-TERM GOALS -  NO UPDATE REQUIRED

  1. RALOs to decide on one representative to participate in group call with ICANN Legal regarding the RALO Bylaw changes the RALOs are considering
    1. Referred to RALOs and Secretariats
  2. LACRALO to put the questions it has developed onto the ALAC-Registrar [wiki: [Ideas for future ALAC-Registrar meetings|] ([Ideas for the content of educational materials to be developed by At-Large & Registrars|]) and have a call on each one of the RALO teleconferences for this to happen. But the question may be a little unclear.
  3. ExCom members, during their RALO meetings, to encourage ALS observers in various meetings. ExCom members, during the various meetings, are to encourage all RALOS to mention the fact that meetings are open to all.
  4. ExCom to consider having interpretation on calls in which only 1-2 members request it.
    1. In progress:  Overall strategy for archiving with interpretation/translation must be discussed at some point in future.  (Of course, ICANN operating language is English.)
    2. Note:  Even if interpretation not requested, must consider its usefulness for future archival purposes; it is true of translating transcripts, wiki and mailing-list work, etc.
  5. Future ALAC Statements, which are lengthy, are to include an executive summary.
  6. Staff to update list of Cross-Constituency WGs on ALAC AG wiki page
  7. Cheryl to manage winding up and archiving WGs to be closed, Matt to schedule time to work with Cheryl on this.
