  •  All RALO chairs will continue to have regular coordination meetings.
  •  Satish Babu will call 2 meetings before ICANN 75 KL.
  •  The topic of the Mobilization WP implementation should be put on Agenda for the next Regional Leadership meeting and  discussed among all RALOs 
  •  Next Regional Leadership Chair Satish Babu  to start work on the implementation of the WS2, Continuous improvement program, and the implementation of the recommendations of the At-Large review.
  •  All RALOs who are working on the review of their respective Rules of procedure should share their work with others so all RALO rules are in synchronization.
  •  On the topic of RALO Coordination, Satish mentioned that the topic of outreach and engagement is important, and the next ICANN 75 meeting is a good opportunity to look at O/E jointly.

At-Large Policy Session 2: Closed Generics: Finding a Balance

Jonathan Zuck provided an introduction to closed generics - it is a generic term run by one vendor whose business is relevant to that particular string. 

Greg Shatan introduced a 2020 paper on closed generics. 

A suggestion was made that the ALAC should focus on the questions that the Board asked the GNSO and GAC. 


Joint AFRALO-AfrICANN Meeting

Topic: The role of the AFRALO community in mitigating DNS Abuse

  •  The suggestion for the creation of an AFRALO WG on  DNS abuse, shall be included on the agenda of the next AFRALO monthly meeting

The AFRALO/AfrICANN statement on The role of the AFRALO community in mitigating DNS Abuse was discussed and agreed.

EURALO Policy Session: "Internet Governance and Multistakeholderism in terms/time of Emergency"

Guest Speaker: Oksana Prykhodko (European Media Platform) presented the situation in Ukraine given the action by Russia. 

Regional experience in time of emergency throughout the regions were presented. 

  1. Asia Pacific - Jennifer Chung, Cheryl Langdon-Orr - Discussed the case of the Tonga volcano and the cutting of the undersea internet cable. Also, the coup in Myanmar and the ongoing cutting of the internet was raised. The need for action within the Golden Hour to react to an emergency and the use of first rate equipment was presented. 
  2. Africa - Bram Fudzulani, AFRALO Outreach and Engagement Co-Chair - The situation in Malawi during COVID and also the impact of the Russia conflict in Ukraine was discussed. 
  3. Latin America and Caribbean - Augusto Ho, Claire Craig - Outlined impact of natural disasters and the important role of international organizations like ICANN and At-Large and the need to partner with resourceful organizations which deal with emergencies in the region to take concrete actions, such as training. 
  4. North America - Eduardo Diaz, NARALO Chair - Presented the example of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the impact of lack of communication technologies. He also pointed out lessons learned and new initiatives taken to mitigate disasters.
  5. Board actions - Leon Sanchez - Provided an update on the various actions of ICANN org for the situation in Ukraine as well as other emergencies. 


At-Large Leadership Wrap up 

Session leads provided an overview of their sessions. 

Maarten Botterman provided the highlights of the Board during ICANN74 and initial plans for ICANN75.

Goran Marby - Noted that the community has done very well with the masks and lanyards. Also, there have been 105 meetings with over 800 on site participants from 101 countries. Noted that org will call activities by what they do - including Auction Proceeds will be known as Grant giving. Suggested tools for teachers.
