11) Proposed Goals and Outcomes: Content Guidelines (click here) | The IPC is looking to plan their outreach event on Monday evening during ICANN62, at the American Trade Hotel (https://www.americantradehotel.com/[americantradehotel.com]), from 7-9 pm. A successful event was held in Puerto Rico during ICANN61, and the IPC wishes to hold a similar event for ICANN62. The IPC is aware that there might be a local host event on Monday night as well, and would appreciate any information as soon as it becomes available in order to adjust their anticipated date/time. Chantelle Doerksen had mentioned that Brian Winterfeldt had emailed you and Chris Mondini earlier this week to start a discussion on planning for ICANN62, and to identify potential local contacts that they could invite. One of the ongoing IPC goals is to increase the regional diversity of its membership to expand the Constituency’s presence within Latin America. For this purpose, Kiran Malancharuvil (IPC Secretary) and Brian Scarpelli (IPC Participation Coordinator) will work with Aslam Mohamed and Hector Manoff (the two identified IPC CROP participants) to coordinate the event in Panama, on behalf of the IPC, and with the support of Chantelle Doerksen, the IPC’s Secretariat.
Hector is from Argentina and has a lot of local/regional contacts in Panama. Also, Aslam is heavily engaged in evangelizing the ICANN/IPC issues in international legal organizations and although he is based in the United States, he is in charge of international outreach for his firm in India and has many contacts in LAC. A planning call is tentatively being scheduled within the next few weeks.
The IPC would welcome ICANN's Regional Team's participation and suggestions for invitees, in order maximize this proposed engagement opportunity in Panama. | ||||||||||||
