9) Proposed Goals and Outcomes:

Content Guidelines (click here)

The International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting is the largest international gathering of trademark owners and brand advocates in the world.

On the agenda are several topics relevant to the work of the IPC, including brand protection post-GDPR and INTA internet committee discussions on ongoing ICANN PDPs such as Rights Protection Mechanism Review, New gTLD Subsequent Procedures and Data Protection/Next Generation RDS. There are also numerous formal and informal networking opportunities.

The INTA meeting therefore provides an exceptional opportunity to increase awareness and participation by demonstrating the critical importance of ICANN issues, and IPC advocacy, to this prospect-rich group.

Brian is the IPC Participation Coordinator and in his capacity as a member of the IPC Outreach and Engagement Committee will perform IPC outreach including proposing to attend the INTA Internet Committee to speak about the work of the IPC.  Brian will also disseminating copies of the IPC's factsheet to share with participants with the purposes of increasing awareness and networking with potential IPC members. This fact sheet can be viewed at:  https://www.ipconstituency.org/assets/Fact-Sheets/2019_IPC%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf

Attendance at this event is in-line with the IPC’s FY19 Outreach plan (IPC Outreach Strategic Plan) in particular in seeking to build membership and encourage diversity.  Although the INTA 2019 meeting takes place in the US it is truly global, and attended by upwards of 10,000 individuals from around the world.
