Goals and Objectives for Attending the Ghana School of Internet Governance:

  1. Represent AFRLAO at the event to ensure the visibility of AFRALO in the region.
  2. Gain Knowledge and Understanding: The primary goal of attending the Ghana School of Internet Governance is to acquire comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Internet governance principles, policies, and practices. This includes learning about various aspects such as internet infrastructure, legal frameworks, human rights, cybersecurity, and emerging trends in the field.

  3. Enhance Advocacy:  Develop Advocacy for AFRALO during the event. This involves using my effective communication techniques, persuasive speaking, and the ability to articulate ideas and concerns related to Internet governance. This is in accordance with the AFRALO outreach plan.

  4. Promote Universal Acceptance (Speaker): As a representative of AFRALO, I would be giving a 2 hours presentation and this is already approved by the organisers. This would raise awareness and promote the concept of universal acceptance at the event. This involves advocating for equal treatment of all domain names and email addresses, regardless of script, language, or region. Emphasize the importance of inclusivity in internet access and usage, and highlight the benefits of universal acceptance for the African region.

  5. Increase Visibility of AFRALO: Another objective is to ensure that AFRALO is visible and recognized at the event. Network with other participants, engage in discussions, and actively participate in workshops and sessions. I would take advantage of the opportunity to showcase AFRALO's initiatives, achievements, and perspectives on internet governance issues specific to the African region.

  6. Collaborate and Build Partnerships: I would use the event as a platform to foster collaboration and build partnerships with other individuals, organizations, and stakeholders in the field of Internet governance. Seek opportunities to exchange ideas, share best practices, and establish connections that can contribute to AFRALO's future projects and activities.

  7. Gain Insights for Policy Development: Attend presentations, panel discussions, and workshops to gain insights into current Internet governance policies and trends. Identify areas where AFRALO can contribute to policy development, especially in relation to universal acceptance and other issues affecting the African region. Aim to gather valuable information and knowledge that can be utilized to shape AFRALO's future strategies.

  8. Contribute to Internet Governance Discourse: I would actively engage in discussions, ask questions, and share perspectives during the event. I would contribute to the broader Internet governance discourse by offering insights from the African perspective and highlighting the unique challenges and opportunities faced by the region. By actively participating, I will ensure that AFRALO's voice is heard and this would help drive AFRALO membership in line with the outreach plan.

  9. I would also create an AFRALO stand where people would come and ask questions about AFRALO.
