CHAT TRANSCRIPT:

Bart Boswinkel:Hi all
Ben Fuller:Welcome Kimberly.
Ben Fuller:Welcome Kimberly
Kimberly Carlson:Ben, not able to hear you clearly
Ben Fuller:I can hear OK, if you can hear me we are sorted
Alejandra Reynoso [.gt]:Good morning
Bart Boswinkel:Ben we could hear you
Eduardo Santoyo:good morning
Mirjana Tasic .rs:Hello!
Kimberly Carlson:Please give me another minute to start the bridge
Kimberly Carlson:I'm dropping and reconnecting

David McAuley:I got cut off on phione - will re-dial
Kimberly Carlson:I think the bridge is ok now
martin boyle, Nominet:got it!
Ben Fuller:OK here
Christelle Vaval:Good morning
David McAuley:back in
martin boyle, Nominet:did people hear me?
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Have to dial in... 8AM here.
Dejan Djukic:Hi!
Stephen Deerhake (.as):I will dial in for audio...
David McAuley:yes
Alejandra Reynoso [.gt]:yes
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Kewl effect...
David McAuley:that issiome echo
Kimberly Carlson:Stephen needs to mute mic
David McAuley:is some
Kimberly Carlson:or speakers
David McAuley:not me either, muted
Stephen Deerhake (.as):I think I might caused that ;-)
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Good morning, all
Kimberly Carlson:doc is scrollable
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Thanks Kim.
David McAuley:I like this suggestion by Katrina on draft agenda
David McAuley:only material changes need be resent
Kimberly Carlson:Minor corrections, I do not resend
David McAuley:minor technical changes seem not needing resending
martin boyle, Nominet:substantive ones do!
Ben Fuller:Agree with Martin
martin boyle, Nominet:of course, Bart!
Ben Fuller:I can check the language.
David McAuley:that sounds good Bart
Stephen Deerhake (.as):observers are not the same as laisons?
David McAuley:I think in practical effect they are the same
Alejandra Reynoso [.gt]:I learned that word too in ICANN world :)
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Just wondering if there was a distinction in what you were reading in the bylaws...
Bart Boswinkel:BAckground is to express difference between SO an dAC
Stephen Deerhake (.as):It's French....
martin boyle, Nominet:not the most common of English words!
Ben Fuller:I think they are different in function and abilities. We should clarify them
Katrina Sataki:ops... sorry, I started talking about Liaisons guideline even though according to agenda we were supposed to talk about travel funding :)
Ben Fuller:I agree with martin. A liason has a task to affect better operations between organisation, an observer just observes and reports back
Mirjana Tasic .rs:My understanding of these two words was similar to what Martin explained
martin boyle, Nominet:agree on practical nature - ICANN seems to use them interchangeably!
Ben Fuller:We should clarify and only use one. This will reduce confusion.
David McAuley:no objection here
Stephen Deerhake (.as):+1 Ben.
Bart Boswinkel:A fruit thing
David McAuley:may be possible in future to show track changes by making doc a pdf
Kimberly Carlson:Hi David, the actual word doc had the tracking/comments - the mac users are not able to convert these docs to pdf - I will post the word doc on the wiki
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Agreed David.
David McAuley: awesome, thanks Joke
David McAuley:thanks kim
David McAuley:Kim, that is
David McAuley:Travel funding is hard because you want to fund those willing to do the work and yet also bring along newcomers
Stephen Deerhake (.as):FYI Jay Daley has done some significant work on historical analysis of travel funding --there is a slide deck on the InternetNZ web site...
David McAuley:Thanks Stephen, will take a look
Alejandra Reynoso [.gt]:Here is the published list of people who have received travel funding: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ccnso.icann.org_about_funded-2Dtravel&d=DgICaQ&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=GKmFfRII4Fu5R2rvaGzd2eqNVicqdIuGnamKqfKpp0hrH9ye_zt36pZ_ZlAuB8NR&m=kBnCtMcTOjMMZQskkq1CT6UYdIoBgD5o4yZxrOiplpM&s=MNEQqwCpHFub4zIzqKUasZHXT4pF-UmW0Tcun8ctAWA&e=
Christelle Vaval:Thank you Alejandra
David McAuley:Thanks Alejandra
Joke Braeken:Stephen, do you happen to have the link?
Joke Braeken:applications are archived here: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__forum.icann.org_lists_ccnso-2Dtravelfunding_&d=DgICaQ&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=GKmFfRII4Fu5R2rvaGzd2eqNVicqdIuGnamKqfKpp0hrH9ye_zt36pZ_ZlAuB8NR&m=kBnCtMcTOjMMZQskkq1CT6UYdIoBgD5o4yZxrOiplpM&s=BBXqTjfNG5hHSHhl17dWdpvlmOTdpZ8eBhIT36LxCCQ&e=
Stephen Deerhake (.as):I do not off the top of my head, Joke, but I'll send it to the list when I find it again.
Joke Braeken:thank you Stephen
Ben Fuller:As far as bringing along newcomers, can we also look at the ICANN meeting fellowships?
David McAuley:good point Ben
David McAuley:We like your talk Katrina and Bart
Katrina Sataki:sometimes too much is just too much :)
Alejandra Reynoso [.gt]:For the sake of transparency I think it would be great to have the "selection criteria" or "reasons for funding" published along with the names of the people who are funded.
David McAuley:I think the new bylaws may have created a new career path - expert in Annex D
David McAuley:That would help to get a pdf of the list Stephen, thanks
martin boyle, Nominet:@David :-D
Bart Boswinkel:In touch with GNSO support staff to check what they have to date
Ben Fuller:I'm chilling till Christmas, Stephen so I have lots of time to work ....
David McAuley:thanks Stephen
Katrina Sataki:@Ben - it's not exactly the definition of the word "chilling", is it?
Ben Fuller:No, that's an American expression meaing that I have t to get things done
Katrina Sataki:oh...
Stephen Deerhake (.as):OK. This chart can make one's head explode ;-)
David McAuley:it looks like a new life form
Katrina Sataki:it's not the full chart :)
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Isn't this similar to what a caffine molecule looks like?
David McAuley::-)
Katrina Sataki:I will take your word for that, Stepehn :)
Stephen Deerhake (.as):This might well be useful Bart...
Ben Fuller:I agree Bart
Ben Fuller:Post transition life in ICANN will be a lot more complicated we just need to get used to it
David McAuley:Good insight Ben, fair point
David McAuley:none here

Kimberly Carlson:19 Dec, @13:00 UTC
David McAuley:sounds fair, the 19th
Stephen Deerhake (.as):Will do.
Stephen Deerhake (.as):19th works.
