Background
The Second Accountability and Transparency Review Team (ATRT2) was conducted under the under the Affirmation of Commitments. The Affirmation of Commitments (AoC) between ICANN and the U.S. Department of Commerce committed ICANN to “maintain and improve robust mechanisms for public input, accountability, and transparency so as to ensure that the outcomes of its decision‐making will reflect the public interest and be accountable to all stakeholders".
The ATRT2 Final Report, including its 12 recommendationsm was submitted to the Board on 31 December 2013. On 26 June 2014, the Board accepted 12 recommendations, and directed the CEO to proceed with their implementation. Refer to ICANN org page on ATRT2 for more information.
