Gisella Gruber-White:Welcome to the ALAC ExCom meeting on Wednesday 23 May 2012
Gisella Gruber-White:Agenda: https://community.icann.org/x/IID_AQ
Gisella Gruber-White:AI's from ExCom 07 May: https://community.icann.org/x/6cHbAQ
Heidi Ullrich:Action Items from 7 May ExCom: https://community.icann.org/display/alacexcomm/ALAC+ExCom+07.05.12+Action+Items
Evan Leibovitch:so we have as many staff as excom people here?
Heidi Ullrich:AIs from 22 May ALAC Meeting: https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ALAC+22-05-2012+Action+Items+EN
Carlton Samuels:I'm on now. Sometimes lighting a fire directly helps!
Heidi Ullrich:@Evan - pretty good ExCom/staff support ratio ;)
Heidi Ullrich:Will do, Olivier!
Heidi Ullrich:The ALAC agenda is fixed. I'll do that right now on the ExCom agenda.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:hand up
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Confluence is down again
Heidi Ullrich:I'm checking with IT on when it may be back up again.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:its one of those we are up against a bylaw based deadline so Grrrr this time BUT future planning HAS to be smarter (not like it should have snuck up on ICANN because of these known date milestones
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:PPPPPP (prior planning prevents piss poor performance) SIGH
Carlton Samuels:@CLO: +1. This is exactly the approach I'm proposing for our response
Carlton Samuels:@OCL: +1: Include the 'double down' clause!
Evan Leibovitch:Even a dog wouldn't have this breakfast
Evan Leibovitch:Must say, this discussion is not somthing that I find too useful. What's the point of asking for more days to comment if they just ignore us anyway? Just give us more chance to be exasperated and waste more volunteer time.
Evan Leibovitch:To me, the signals are not mixed. The signals continue to be "go away" and appear quite clear :-P
Evan Leibovitch:Whwther out of malice, incompetence or misplaced priorities the result is the same.
Evan Leibovitch:+1 Alan. If anything he's being too reserved.
Carlton Samuels:@CLO: You just said the FIRST piece of what I had to say
Matt Ashtiani:http://www.atlarge.icann.org/correspondence
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:my line dropped using AC at this stage
Heidi Ullrich:http://www.atlarge.icann.org/correspondence
Gisella Gruber-White:Cheryl - we are dialling back
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:back
Evan Leibovitch:@Alan: if/when the IOC/RedCross DT comes back to life, I'd like to be added to it
Alan Greenberg:@EVan, send a note to Glen asking to be put on the group. Next meeting is 30th at 2 pm
Evan Leibovitch:@Olivier. the CCCT issue is itself maybe not needing of mention, but we want to talk to the GAC related to the definition of consumer and consumer issues within ICANN.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:This is what we will discuss with the GAC in Prague
Evan Leibovitch:+1
Evan Leibovitch:Go Alan!!
Carlton Samuels:@Evan: +1; this is my sense of it!
Evan Leibovitch:Bastard child of JAS
Evan Leibovitch:Cheryl, are you still opposing stuff? you've had a "minus" next to your name for a while.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:she's away with the minus
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:step away from her computer
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:disagreee is a red cross
Heidi Ullrich: Follow- up with regard to the effort initiated at the last meeting to create a joint GAC/ALAC effort on conflict of interest. Is there work the ALAC and GAC can do together to study the demand from -- and impact on -- Internet users from the gTLD program launch.
Carlton Samuels:@CLO: I will ALWAYS go for jaw-jaw of any group rather than be silent. It fits my political mantra, ala LBJ.
Evan Leibovitch:ICANN's approach to transparency is a tdade secret :-)
Evan Leibovitch:trade
Cheryl Langdon-Orr::-) :-) :-)
Carlton Samuels:@Evan: lol +1
Evan Leibovitch:Does the map in the At-Large brochure now have Sri Lanka in North America?
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:???
Heidi Ullrich:Apologies, I need to step away briefly
Evan Leibovitch:There is an ongoing conversation going on between Garth and Compliance which is welcome and, frankly, unprecedented.
Heidi Ullrich:back, apologies
Evan Leibovitch:Maguay is being uncharacteristically candid in indicating where infractions have no resulted in penalty.
Evan Leibovitch:(Uncharacteristic for the compliance dept, that is)
Carlton Samuels:@CLO: +1, we really don't know. And to my mind, subscription to at least the Announce list tells me more about real interest than even showing for a teleconference.
Carlton Samuels:You cannot engage in knowledge work without an effort to inform yourself systematically by READING!
Heidi Ullrich:There are no comments on the Compliance quesation wiki: https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+Compliance+Questions+for+Prague+Workspace
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:sorry phone hand set battery ran out back in AC only
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:NP picked it up on the headset
Matt Ashtiani:At-Large RALO Signing Ceremonies Workspace
Matt Ashtiani:https://community.icann.org/x/RcrbAQ
Carlton Samuels:I will have to leave in 6 mins
Carlton Samuels:I have to leave folks. Thanks for sharing
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Thanks Carlton
Heidi Ullrich:That is not correct, Evan
Heidi Ullrich:The plans for the At-Large selected Board Director went out for PC.
Heidi Ullrich:Bylaw changes (inlcuding those made by WTA) went out for PC.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:I think what Evan now outlines is in keeping with what I heard ALAC agree to/discuss briefly
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:yes. agree
Silvia Vivanco:CLO: Could you please state the AI as you would like it to be recorded
Heidi Ullrich:sorry I'm on mute
Heidi Ullrich:we have the webinar on the 14th
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:that Staff /Sylvia contact the APRALO (?? other RALOs??) put this topic on their next /Prague meetings
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:that was for Sylvia
Silvia Vivanco:CLO "Silvia" with "i" so I am distinguished from the LACRALO Leader
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:Sorry it was not deliberatenI meant no offence
