Minutes and Action Items

1. December Face-to-Face Meeting (Naela)

  • Any issues?

2. Alexey Sozonov reported that he may not be able to participate.

3. Manal having trouble completing the internal travel process and may not be able to finalize on time but will participate remotely if she cannot.

4. Visual Similarity (Steve)

  • Team made a distinction regarding who the competent user should be. It is more appropriate to say that the competent user is of the Language, and not the script

5. Taxonomy of variants (Andrew & Nicholas)

  • Update on discussions on list

6. Evaluation of Applications for Variant gTLDs (Karen)

7. Whole-String Issues (Francisco)

  • Vaggelis does not agree with everything with the document and if it stays close to what it is right now, he would like to note his objection

Doc: Sarmad sent a list of items that need to be discussed. When would those be taken up?

Dennis: Reminder to all teams that 28 November is the deadline for teams to finalize their analysis of public comments.

Action Items:

  1. Steve to update the visual similarity document based on today’s discussion
  2. Andrew & Nicholas to finalize the Taxonomy document in the next week
  3. Karen to update the evaluation document with text regarding fees.
  4. Dennis to put the items Sarmad’s list of issues that still need to be discussed on the agenda for next week and start a discussion on the mailing list.
  5. Steve to check with Chinese team to confirm that the team will be able to submit the reply on time.
