NARALO has annual elections and the goal of the "Meet the Candidate Calls' is an opportunity for the ALS membership to ask direct questions to the candidates on their personal reasons why they have chosen to run for one of the open positions. in 2017, the open positions are Chair, Secretariat, ALAC and NOMCOM representative.
The meet the Candidate Call has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 17th at 5 to 6 PM EDT. Since there is only one nominee for the positions of Chair or Secretariat, the call will only feature the ALAC candidates and the candidates for NomCom.
Suggested process
An independent moderator will ask the questions and a separate person will be the time keeper
- Opening statement by the moderator on the rules
- All candidates can provide an opening statement on themselves, reasons for running and history with NARALO x 4 candidates
- Specialized questions per position per person
- Wrap up statements open to all candidates
