Meeting Notes

 

ALS invitations, travel etc.

·      Pavan/Staff to report back at next meeting on whether the Philippines ALS has been invited/accepted

·      All the ALSs have been sent invitations (local and ICANN

·      Gisella to send all members plan of the meeting room

·      Staff to check on videoconference facilities available for the meeting room.

 

Committee Updates

 

Showcase/Reception

·      The meeting decided on speakers (maximum of 5 minutes) – probably Fadi and Sebastien.  Holly to be MC.

·      The Showcase theme to be Diversity of the Region.  Each region can set up its display(s) and invitees can  visit the displays of the various regions (similar to the same event in Mexico)

·      Maureen to provide suggested agenda for next meeting – after which formal invitations can be sent out.

·      There is an issue about setting up the displays – in the same room as the multi-stakeholder event – to be clarified at the next meeting

 

Sponsorship

Committee to confirm sponsorship needs at next meeting

 

Capacity Building

Maureen has been working with Janice on what will be part of the Fellowship and Newcomer events.  The meeting confirmed that the ‘ALAC 101” – how ALAC/RALOS communicate (Wikis etc) will be part of the ALAC session.

 

General Assembly

One item for the agenda will be an overview of the RoP/APRALO processes – at a high level – to be given by CLO.. Holly to put suggested agenda in workspace.

 

Multi-stakeholder meeting - To be held Monday 1700-1900

There will be two themes: the new gTLDs and IDNs.  Four speakers have been invited for the first hour (see workspace).  Peter Nettlefold (GAC) has confirmed.  Jeremy Malcolm can attend by videoconference. The second session to include a range of language voices (see workspace) to talk about IDNs from their perspective.

 

Local Chinese event

Hong reported on progress on the Chinese meeting – and to work with Heidi on scheduling the meeting.

 

Youth Forum

Edmon to report back to the next meeting.
