  Chris Wilson: (13:16) Brenda, I am x2992

  Brenda Brewer: (13:16) Thank you!

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:17) Farzaneh hand

Farzaneh Badii: (13:17) totally agree Greg

Farzaneh Badii: (13:18) we discussed it extensively in the group

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (13:18) agree Greg

David McAuley: (13:19) And they can note that any advice is not legal advice when they give it

Farzaneh Badii: (13:19) yes we did . thanks Greg

Tijani BEN JEMAA: (13:23) Please scroll down

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:24) Tijani is the text you wer elooking for the following: Torestate, wesupporttheabovementionedrecommendationsandwelookforwardtoICANN’sconcreteactionsforresolvingthejurisdictionalissuesandimplementingthesolutions.

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:24) sorry garbled paste

David McAuley: (13:24) I question these changes

David McAuley: (13:25) I cannot dial in yet but we specifically agreed that the general license effort has to be preceded by an examination of how and how hard it is to do

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:25) Tijani here it is cleaned up - To restate, we support the abovementioned recommendations and we look forward to ICANN’s concrete actions for resolving the jurisdictional issues and implementing the solutions.

David McAuley: (13:25) I do think we struck right balance

David McAuley: (13:27) as quickly as possible is not a concern, just the idea that we not send ICANN off on a mission nbefore it analyzes/plans it

David McAuley: (13:27) so thanks Farzi

Farzaneh Badii: (13:28) glad Icould clarify David. Thanks

David McAuley: (13:33) it seems opportunity costs easily fits under our recommendation to study 'costs'

Jorge Cancio (GAC Switzerland): (13:33) what is exactly meant with "opportunity cost"?

Jorge Cancio (GAC Switzerland): (13:34) for whom?

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:34) hand Farzaneh

David McAuley: (13:34) I think it means what would be lost (not spent on) by spending money on gen license

Farzaneh Badii: (13:34) oh whaat they could spend on something else other than this ... sigh

  Kavouss.Arasteh: (13:34) Nothing is free

Jorge Cancio (GAC Switzerland): (13:35) that is the ICANN Org perspective - there is also an opportunity cost for affected parties if a gral license is not followed upon

David McAuley: (13:35) if they spend $1million on lobbying for gen license what would they not spend on - PDP work? fellows program" travel? - I think we give latitude to study any cost

David McAuley: (13:36) This issue illustrates why it is good that community has some oversight of budget

David McAuley: (13:37) agree w.Greg and Farzi on problem statement

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:37) time check - 23 minutes left in call

Kavouss.Arasteh: (13:38) Why we have to modify the report as results  of ICANN comments

David McAuley: (13:38) good insight Bernie

Farzaneh Badii: (13:40) it's about ICANN's mission and access to DNS. but we can argue these things later. As David said they can do it in the study.at the preliminary stage

David McAuley: (13:40) Our report says, in part: “ICANN should first prioritize a study of the costs, benefits, timeline and details of the process.” That gives latitude to study costs

Kavouss.Arasteh: (13:42) We Expected a more positiove  comments from ICANN

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:43) HAVE MOVED ON TO 7

Farzaneh Badii: (13:44) oh Elton John is really retiring

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (13:45) Time check - 15 minutes left in call

David McAuley: (13:45) I am sorry I have to leave this good call now, thanks Greg, and all

Thiago Jardim: (13:46) Apologies, got held up in a meeting.

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (13:47) I don't hear/understand Kavouss can someone review?

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (13:48) ah it was a process concern... ok

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (13:48) the @Greg

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (13:49) thx not the

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (13:53) I see their point
